Do the Texans get national respect now?

He punished us for not beating the Bills by more. Come on... who does that? Tied for the best record in the league, we beat his precious previous #1 ranked team... I can't wait to hear his reasoning why we're still not #1 on his list.

So you pay attention to what Cowherd (first off, funny a$$ name), for the hilarity of it?? I get that.

He punished the Texans for not beating the Bills by more? What an asshat considering those same Bills had an opportunity to beat the Patriots in Foxboro...

Seriously tho, I've read this moron before but really, at the end of the day I'm in the camp that doesn't give a crap what people say or think about the Texans. I used to. I used to hate the lack of respect, but sports journalism (if there is such a thing) has turned into such a joke that I don't really pay much attention anymore.

On NFLN after our game, they talked about playoff caliber teams in AFC.

"Where do we put the Broncos? Number 1? 2? 3?..."

Marshall Faulk does a double take and a "What you talkin' 'bout Willis?" interrupts the host (some no-name doof) and goes, "Whuh? Huh? Uh...no, no. Not ahead of Houston. Houston's number 1."

Marshall is pretty level headed. He's not a follower, not a Group Think guy.

You earn respect in this league. Now, if you are talking press coverage, then be a circus like the Jets. But coverage =/= respect, so don't get the two confused.

I like having a low profile 'lunch box' team. They all subscribe to the "just a game" mentality after they win and they play one game at a time without looking ahead and hyping themselves with b.s.

The bold is key. You nailed it. Some people just don't understand the difference between respect and media coverage. They don't necessarily go hand in hand. You will have great teams that get very little coverage (Texans, Giants, etc), bad teams that get tons of coverage (Jets as you mentioned), and good to great teams that get tons of coverage (Patriots, Packers).

We get quite a bit of respect. Maybe we don't get as much coverage, but I am ok with that.

But you got to win those national games too.
We are 2-1 this year.
We should get 4 or 5 games nationally next year.....

I see Andre Johnson image as the backdrop for one of the shows on the nfl network. I see clips of them on espn and read about my team just about anywhere. I don't care if chris Berman or chtis collonsworth don't bob our knob the way they do teams like Dallas or nyj or ne. What I've always wanted is to root for a winner and after 8 years of krap or mediocrity that is way more important than attention and praise. I really don't understand the need to be wanted and loved by people that aren't fans. We are finally good and the record indicates that not the number of times they show Texan highlights.
