HA ha! Big losers!
I have never understood why both New York teams actually play in New Jersey! They don't deserve either one of them if they don't finance a freakin' new stadium. Or they should change their names to the New Jersey Jets and the New Jersey Giants!

Arlington could very well move into that slot. Jerry's World is supposed to be ready for the '09 season. Even if Arlington doesn't get '10, they'll probably get '11 for sure now and the NFL err...the media vacation club won't want to go to Houston and Arlington in consecutive years - or even two out of three years for that matter.

I would hope the Texans at least make an attempt at the '10 or '11 Super Bowl bid. Maybe the green-eyed monster will be a little subdued by the time the vote comes up again.

Looks like the owners have reopened the bidding for the 2010 Super Bowl.

I would have bet the farm that Atlanta would have got the just recently
awarded SB, but if not Atlanta, then I was just as sure it would come here to Houston. Of course it went to neither, but to Tampa instead. Word was that Tampa had about the least attractive package, but may of the owners were PO'd at the "big revenue" teams like Houston & Atlanta and therefor bypassed them. As someone said earlier in this thread, the Ft Worth-Arlington Cowboys are likely to get it soon after this SB as their new stadium will go online shortly afterwards, so Houston is a real, real long shot because of geographical redundancy. So at this point, I'm really not sure how to handicap this selection process. |

This is done by secret ballot by the owners, isn't it? Wish it was done openly, so at least you know who your friends/enemies are, and what they are thinking.
