Reggie Bush "Chasing a Bucket of Chicken"

Terry Bradshaw made the biggest fumble in the NFL on Sunday when he compared Reggie Bush TD run to "chasing a bucket of chicken" -- but the jaw-dropping comment was intended to be an inside joke ... TMZ has learned..

Hall of Famer Bradshaw was describing Reggie's play during yesterday's halftime highlights show on FOX NFL Sunday -- when he spewed, "Look at this Jimmy, like he was chasing that bucket of chicken that the wind was blowing the other day."

Sources who were inside the FOX studio yesterday ... tell TMZ Terry was not trying to insult African-American Reggie -- but instead was taking a shot at fellow FOX analyst Jimmy Johnson.

We're told the entire cast and crew has always busted on JJ -- on and off air -- for his love of fried chicken ... and that's why TB called out Jimmy during his comment.

So, we gotta ask ...

Only person I can think of who doesn't like fried chicken is Foster.

I'd say Bradshaw is somebody who's going to occasionally stick his foot in his mouth, but he's a good guy. Probly about how the Dems. see Biden.

Us Mexican like chicken too. In fact we waited an extra 20 min on Friday to get the Coloneols original. We shouldn't have because the dummies didn't give us our bisquits. This morning on 610 Nick Wright thought a caller was a woman becasue the screener mistakenly listed the callers name as Zoe. But when the caller spoke it was clearly a black man said his name was Zo. Nick Wright said I was a expecting a dainty woman instead I get you so I'll call you gorilla Zo. Now I'm not on the radio, but I doubt I'd be stupid enough to refer to a black man as a gorilla. There's nothing wrong with chicken if you don't fry it. It's healthy, good, cheap, and easy to reproduce. If you're not a vegan with a lot of empathy for animals, then chicken is nothing to be ashamed of in the first place. It's the fried batter that's kind of pathetic.

Exactly. Once I got over 35 I couldn't eat anything fried anymore. I just weaned myself off of that stuff because heart disease runs in my family and I don't want to speed up the process. Now if I eat any of that stuff it makes me sick to my stomach.

I used to love ..

fried chicken
chicken fried steak
chicken fried chicken (especially at the Black Eyed Pea)
The DQ Dude (which is a chicken fried hamburger)
chicken nuggets

I haven't had any of the above in well over 5 years or more.

I still eat chicken more than anything, however always grilled.
