A quick word on coaching today:
1. Was anyone else surprised by Kubiak going for the TD in the last minute of 2nd quarter? Ordinary Kubiak would have settled for running out the clock and going for 3, but Kubiak decided that he was going to stomp on the neck of the Ravens and try for the TD. I was very surprised. Anyone else? 2. It seemed on both sides of the ball plays were called that we hadn't seen this year. Does anyone else think that Kubiak and Wade opened up the playbook some given how important this game was? We had a Barwin and Merci sighting on the Defense. Casey running the ball when we needed the first down. Seemed like the Head Coaches were going to make sure to put the players in the best position to win. Watt do yall think? |

I don't know, I thought the game was classic Kubiak, personally.
There were a few 3rd and longs where we still ran the ball. We still had 6 seconds to go before the half and we kicked a FG. We punted on 4th and short near midfield I think. Kubiak and co were booed in the 1st for being so conservative. Kubiak plays pretty consitently. I think the Merciless sighting was Wade trying some new things with Cushing out. And it paid off big time

I agree. This was definitely a different game for us.
I loved it and hope Kubs and Son of Bum keep it up! Lets put 50 up on the Bills in two weeks!!

The only reason we kicked the FG in the final seconds of the first half is because we couldn't convert the TD. Going for the TD in the final seconds was very un-Kubiak like. The punt I was mad about. We should have gone for it. |

3rd n long; he ran it to get some yards so they can be pinned down further after the punt 4th n in; Had we failed, thats great starting postion for Flacco N it was Jacoby that was getting booed |

I think some of the booing was deceptive. Basically, if Jacoby was back to receive a punt, there was a ton of booing. And it happened pretty quickly, so it may have sounded as if the fans were upset with the offense, but the booing was for Jacoby.

I love the way wade called the game today. Seeing reed inside was awesome but you can tell he has work to do knowing his assignments. Also hope he improves in coverage because he was not great. Mercilus is an animal and must be pushin Barwin because he brought his A game

I wasn't disagreeing with the calls, just pointing out that they were very standard Kubiak calls

I don't think the Texans were boo'd at all yesterday. I remember the first time the boos came out, I was looking around trying to figure out what happened & someone pointed out that it started when that #12 guy stepped on the field.
There was another time, they boo'd because of something the refs did.

They were definitely booed when it was 3rd and 12 and they ran a draw play.
