If our Texans can get control of this game early...or even keep it close, the outcome should be favorable for them. Aaron Rodgers is usually not the victor, apparently, when he and his Packers are still teetering by the fourth quarter.

I really don't even need to look at any stats on Rodgers. I've seen him make a few come from behind drives already and seen him do all types of amazing things on the field. To suggest that he isn't capable of being extremely dangerous at the end of games is downright crazy to me, but hey everyone is entitled to an opinion. Aaron Rodgers proved what a threat he was in any game in his 2nd season playing when he put up like almost 50 points in that playoff game against the Cardinals where he went nuts in the 4th quarter. One of the best QB performances I've ever witnessed honestly. It wasn't his fault his team's defense kept letting the other team score. Right now the Pack's offense just isn't clicking that well. Their running game isn't that great one again especially with Benson hurt now, and Jennings has been hurt who is his main target. The Packers could turn it on at any time though. Maybe they'll just have a down year possibly too. Who knows, but you'll never convince me that Rodgers isn't one of the most dangerous QB's in the league as far as being able to make a come back.

Rodgers is certainly dangerous any time at any given point of a game. However, he is historically 3-18 in those types of come-from-behind situations. And the article points out that the Pack, an elite team the past few seasons, haven't come out victorious enough in close games as an elite team should.
This is just to point out regarding this game with Green Bay, that if the Texans can either dominate or simply keep it close...it looks statistically good for Houston getting to the win column this Sunday. |

Sooooo, we need to go up big early and take that lead into the 4th quarter and we'll have a chance to beat the Packers ..... right?

I do agree that if the Texans can hold him off for like two scores in the 4th though, that he'll have a really hard time pulling it off against us. That has everything to do with the dominance of our defense and having the best player in the NFL in Watt putting in work then it does as far as looking at any history with Rodgers in these situations. Either way, good thread and a decent discussion to have as far as the match up goes. Rep is on your way partner. |

It HELPS to take a big lead into the fourth. But statistically, even keeping it close into the last quarter also helps the Texans' chances greatly against the Rodgers-era Packers, it we get the gist of the article I shared.

Considering I took a humiliation bet on the Texans I wont feel comfortable with any lead til its final.
Had a packer fan "come at me" so..... I had to put it on the table for pride in my team. GO TEXANS!!!, I don't wanna be humiliated, more importantly I want to see the W.

Rodgers is an excellent QB, and can explode the scoreboard at any time. This can't come from behind idea just isn't right. For now, he doesnt' have all his targets and his line isn't playing well, so we can beat him. But I would never underestimate Rodgers as a QB.

Do I feel more confident playing certain teams than others, sure, but I'll never underestimate the power of a 10 minute streak of a hot offense. Looking forward to the game tonight, I think it'll be close, VERY close

Agree. If this game stays close well into the 4th quarter it will be the most exciting game of the year so far, because either of the QBs could rally to win it.

I worry about this team keeping it close against anyone. I wanna put teams away if we can. Our biggest flaw is not being able to play 4 quarters.
