On the first one, the DT Starks (Dolphins) didn't get past Newton until after 3 secs. Schaub held tha ball two long and was sack near the 5-sec mark. There were a couple of one-on-one situation downfield (with AJ and another receiver KW maybe?) but Schaub was a little undecided because neither was really open. On the second one, Stark beat W. Smith quickly. That was a true sack there. The third one was when Dummervill beat Newton and got to Schaub in about 3 secs for that safety in Denver. Normally, I would chalk that one to the OT, but as it was near the end zone, and especially with plenty of room in the pocket, Schaub should have stepped up and deliver the ball quickly to either Casey or Foster, but he was waiting for AJ downfield. I'm inclined to put this one on Matt. There were several instances that Schaub helped out his linemen and avoid some sacks though. All in all, the linemen have been doing a very good job protecting their QB. Much kudos to them!

This is Gary Kubiaks offense run to near perfection.
Make no mistakes , take advantage of opportunities to score. Lean on Wades defense to finish the job. Classic football ....

Strong run game featuring Ottis Anderson. Tough, swarming defense featuring Lawrence Taylor, Carl Banks, Harry Carson. Steady QB play using play-action passing featuring Phil Simms (and Jeff Hostetler when Simms got hurt).... You're right. Classic football. |

Thought this was going to be a Kris Brown thread.
![]() But really, outstanding execution of the gameplan on offense. They seem to be able to run it exactly as it is drawn up and so far that has been enough. I guess if we get into a shootout we will see just how much we have in reserve. Are we still seeing Schaub's $h!tty throw of the game still? Haven't seen it talked about so much.

He was trying to get AJ involved. They ran that route a few times earlier. I remember Schaub just missed AJ one time, and simply didn't see AJ on another. Both times, AJ was more open than on the INT (all 3 times with the deep safety right there to help Cromartie.) And Schaub had to pick the time when Cromartie had the tightest coverage to throw the ball to AJ! I mean, WTF is that, LOL!

Elias Sports Book went back and charged our OL with a sack. They determined that in week 1 one of Arian's runs was actually a designed RB throw and he was sacked, not tackled for a loss.

Hey, I was checking the Washington Post Sports; they use stats from Elias Sport Bureau (Stats, Inc.) and they only charged our linemen with 2 sacks (Newton and W. Smith). The only sack they charged Newton for was the 6 yard loss that resulted in the safety at Denver. |
