Thought this would be an interesting thread for people to follow as the season moves along. I'm sure others will find additional records/firsts to add to the list. Let's try to keep it to realistic, achievable records. Not things like Schaub throwing for over 4.7k yards. The season is still young but many of these are on pace to be reached/surpassed. I researched these but could have missed something so let me know if anything seems wrong and I'll fix it.

Nice to know the Texans have already accomplished something the Oilers never did, even if it is just a START to the season.

Has Balt.'s D fallen off THAT much, or is Minn. really looking THAT good? I figured the Ravens game would be our toughest game again--with the exception that I don't remember which games are at home or away...

I'm still more wary of the Ravens and Pats more than I am anyone else on our schedule. Hell, I'm much more concerned about the Ravens game than I am Green Bay.

Baltimore is giving up chunks of yardage. Had Greg Little not dropped what should have been a TD, the Browns-Ravens game may have turned out a lot different. Losing Suggs to an Achilles and Jarret Johnson to FA has put a big crimp in both the pass rush and stopping the run. And while Webb is an outstanding CB, his counterparts in Cary Williams and Jimmy Smith? Not so much. They give up way too much yardage. Reed is still Reed, but if you stay away from his side of the field you get Pollard. Who is great against the run and short passes, but is never going to stay with WR's downfield.
I guess I am used to the Ravens defense being #1, #2 or maybe #5. Not #23 (#13 rush, #29 pass). The Vikes? Can't put my finger on it, other than just appear to be a tough team to play this year. Texans host Ravens this year at Reliant. |

I expect nothing but a war with the Ravens even with that drop-off on the D because the O is trying to pick up the slack.
I'm expecting tough, tough games from the Packers, Patriots, Bears, and Vikings. Before the season, I expecting a tough game from the Lions but now I'm not so sure. The surprise to me is the Vikings. I just can't figure out if they're for real or if they're one of those teams that's borderline and gotten lucky. Lose to the Colts and beat the Niners? Really?

Also, the Oilers never started 5-0. So that could be added to the notes.

Yes, they will! That's why we're gonna need our 12th man to stand up and be heard! Same for the Packers game. Our fans are great, but, I think we're gonna need to step it up a notch or two! If we want our D to "step it up" because of the loss of Cush, then we need to do the same! Make their visit to Reliant a very miserable one! Send them home respecting the FANS of the Houston Texans!!

-The Texans are 2 AFC wins from matching that record.
-The team is on pace for 493 points scored & 293 points allowed. -Schaub has completed 63% of his passes. That record looks out of reach this season. -Foster is on pace for: 1506 yds, 20 rushing TDs & 6 100 yd games. -Watt is on pace for 21 sacks. -Kareem Jackson is on pace for 6 interceptions. Some other records that could go down this season: -Donnie Jones is averaging 46.9 yds per punt (record is Hartmann: 44.4, 2011) -On pace for 4528 total yards allowed (record is 4571, 2011) |

![]() Is this the same KJ that everyone said was no good and would never be any good? Is this the same KJ that everyone said was a wasted draft pick? Here's to you KJ, and here's to getting a lot more than 6 ints this season!

No, max is 15 for AFC (though practically that's almost impossible, since 12-4 or better teams aren't likely to be in a wildcard game), 5 for NFC. Let's start setting our sights higher!
