I was reading the recap and PK from ESPN said fans were booing the team when they were only up 7 and the play calling from deep in their own territory wasn't to their liking.
Whats up with that? A 3-0 team thats winning and we're getting booed?

I don't know when it happened, but it seems to happen way too often for my liking - Kubiak calls a draw play on 3rd and 15+ on our side of the field. I mean, does he have a super secret stash of tapes the rest of us never experienced where that play works? And so he keeps calling it? It's a give-up play, and everyone knows it. He just calls it to get a few yards to get some room for the punter. Tactically sound or not, it pisses off fans.
No idea if that was where he got booed. I don't remember any boos. But if there were any, that's my first bet on when/why they happened.

Well given the reaction on this board to our team, it wouldn't surprise me at all.
Maybe they have PTSD from too many bad seasons, I don't know.

You don't agree with a play call, you express frustration. We're all guilty of it. The fans did it in unison at one point. Not a big deal. Just like booing when we kneel at the end of the first half. It happens, whatever.

Happened in the Miami game too. Makes the rest of us look like a bunch of Philly fans.

Tin hat theory: college football is skewing NFL fans' logic. (Some) fans expect to score on every drive, put up 50 points, and gain 500 yards of offense. And if your team happens to be playing an inferior opponent, they had better win by 40 or more.

1. F PK/ESPN.
2. That wasn't a boo. We boo'd when the officials placed the ball 7 yards away from where the Titans first downed it after a punt. What we saw was the Texans needing 10 yards and going for 3. What they got was big, "Maaaaaaan, COME ON." Big difference. 3. The draw play thing is tiresome. It usually caps off two plays that folded and is....let's say....pretty obvious when it's coming. Too many weapons on this offense to play for enough room to punt. |

They paid their money, they can boo if they like. What's up with the complaints about it? We're fans, we express our emotions, it's what we do.

I think it was the offensive possession after the Ninja sack-fumble, SWatt recovery.
4th qtr Houston Texans at 07:10 1-10-TEN 17 (7:10) 23-A.Foster up the middle to TEN 15 for 2 yards (79-P.Egboh). 2-8-TEN 15 (6:29) 23-A.Foster right end pushed ob at TEN 13 for 2 yards (53-Z.Diles). 3-6-TEN 13 (5:54) 23-A.Foster right end to TEN 14 for -1 yards (30-J.McCourty). For one thing, they are going to run Arian to death. Second, if you are going run the same play 3x in a row, get AJ some touchdowns.

The consequences of either a safety or a recovery for a TD can change the entire course of a game. Safe plays in that situation are limited to draws and screens really .... And they do have the potential to be successful on occasion tho the odds are against it.

I don't remember any boos yesterday aimed at the team. I hate booing and it pisses me off, so I usually make note of them.

The only booing I remember was a punt that went out of bounds at the 12 and the ref's originally spotted inside the 10.

I called that play before they broke the huddle because you run that play in that situation. The problem was the 2 plays before. That draw also gained 7 yards - Foster's 3rd longest run of the day - and he's been known to pick up that 1st down a time or two. As for the booing, eh, really don't give a crap much about what fans do, other than keeping it down on offense. They paid their money.

I felt it to because we went 3 and out and it felt like we had a number of plays that could have been more effective than conservative runs right into the hands of the defense. It felt like the Tacks coaches knew exactly what Kubes was going to call in that situation and Kubes stayed predictable. I heard boos in reliant when I watched in shock as the Rosencopter unfolded before us. The only booing yesterday was the retarded spot by the ref.

"WHY ARE THEY RUNNING THE BALL! WHY!?!?!" "Umm...because it's 3rd and 11 on our own 5 yard line?" Also I think Kubes has handled it well. One thing I am noticing against lesser opponents is very conservative playcalling. He knows that the only way we lose to the Titans or Jags is by beating ourselves. Against the Broncos though he aired it out. I'm expecting the same old conservative playcalling against the Jets since...their offense is not going to beat us, but if you give their offense short fields and turn over the ball then any team can beat you on any sunday. |

I don't think you have to be a die hard fan to say "Your team is good. Quit booing them."
