Ok, Babin bashers. Take this...Babin made Brandt's all under-25 defensive team. Someone out there is paying attention. Babin is on the frontpage of NFL.com right now as well.

It's good to see Babin and D-Rob getting some recognition, but it's hard to believe that Brandt left Vilma AND Sean Taylor off of his list...

...and Domanick Davis is on Brandt's unheralded list for the players taken in the later rounds.

Wow we had Andre Johnson on the front page when he had his offensive under 25 team, and now Babin is in the front page. I agree with D Rek that they should have put Taylor and Vilma. I think Vilma is better than Barnett, and Taylor is better than Williams.

If you guys just read the article he explains that there are guys who should be there. He's probably just showcasing the depth of the talent more than some fan favorites here and there.

You're telling me that Madieu Williams, who was a rookie last year, is better than Sean Taylor? Let's compare the numbers:

Williams:
103 tackles, 2 sacks, 3 INTs, 7 passes def., and 0 FF in 16 games

Taylor:
76 tackles, 1 sack, 4 INTs, 9 passes def., and 2 FF in 15 games

Williams got more tackles but Taylor caused more turnovers, which is more important IMO...

As for Barnett vs Vilma, it really is a push if you look at their numbers, but I agree with Brandt in giving the edge to Barnett since he has had two good years as opposed to Vilma's one...

Those are pretty impressive numbers for Williams. I can see why someone would be excited about this young guy. It's just one man's opinion. Barnett is a heck of a linebacker too.

Williams isn't as good as Taylor, but I wouldn't dismiss him as a talent. Considering that he started at FS, SS, & CB during the '04 season, I'd say Madieu was a pretty valuable member of the Bengals' defense & will be heard from for quite awhile. Don't get me wrong, I'm in no way bashing Williams, but I think that Taylor is a better player...I realize he has gotten plenty of negative attention due to him wanting a new contract but Brandt didn't even mention him in his article when he was mentioning the young standout safeties...

Regarding Vilma, I'm not certain that he's the only reason that the Jets improved their run D so drastically, since they also signed Eric Barton, who had a pretty good year also...Barnett probably is playing out of position but he has put together two very good years...I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree...

I've been nothing but impressed with Barnett when I've watching him play. He always seems to be around the ball and plays with a high intensity level. Good call on that one.

It's all about openions guys, maybe he was thinking about William's versatility, maybe williams is a better coverage guy and had less balls thrown his way??? Or maybe Williams plays better in the box than Taylor, although due to Taylor's size, I would doubt that, but who knows?? But out of that whole list their was only 4 rookies, this obviously wasn't all about rookies. Personaly, I would go with the guy who has the most versatility, but that's just my openion.

2/19/'05, he's got one or more guys on his under-25 team that aren't
under 25.
