There were several plays (at least 4) where our DBs could have and should have intercepted....and didn't. Who knows what the score may have been had that happened. It is not hard to believe that the score in the 4th Q would have not been anywhere as close or as worrisome. Super Glue on the gloves should have been seriously considered for McCain for sure. We are fortunate that the lack of our "signature" turnover ratio did not affect the game more than it did.

The Tate fumble and the 4-5 dropped INTs were the difference in this being a blowout like it should have been. The important part is we did not capitalize on these and we still won on the road. You have to think we are not going to drop every damn INT opportunity for the rest of the season.

Yup combine that with the broncos last td was luck and AJ drop in the endzone via a kicked ball. The end game could have looked very different but the good guys still held on |

Good points made.
The winning score of 31-25 was not indicative of the domination the Texans had over Denver in this game. Final score could have easily been quite lopsided, but the Texans win on the road despite losing the turnover statistic. Very impressive.

We ended up scoring after the AJ play in the end zone so that doesn't matter, but this game should have been a blowout. Kubiak has had teaching moments after every win to keep the team motivated. Dropped ints and turnovers at crucial times will be the coaching points I'm sure this week. I feel sorry for the team we play when we put it all together.

J Jo should've had a pick 6. He jumped the short route and the ball bounced off his chest. Excellent read on J Jo's part though.

Its always difficult to criticise players for dropped INT's because in being there to break up the pass its a positive play anyway. IDK if our players were baiting Manning into throws he wouldn't normally make or if the coverage was so good that he felt he had to force balls where he shouldn't have, we made it obvious we weren't going to allow him a running game to take the pressure off and he was lucky to escape with a reputable QB rating.

I tell you what, that bounce/tip to Dreesen between 3 of our guys really put a stank on the whole situation. Can't blame DBs for not making catches though.....there's a reason they aren't WR....I think the one that hit McCain's hands just surprised the hell outta him. Like, surely he won't throw to this guy with me standing right in front of him OH GOD HE DID :clank:

Schaub's INT was the Texans first turnover of the season .... half way thru the 3rd game. Thats pretty impressive.
Time to go on another long run of not giving the ball away.

Despite all that, the Texans won the game. In years past, when the Texans have been in the bright lights of a nationally televised game against a quality opponent, time after time they have shrunk down and have come up small. This time they stood tall. In the past a rough start would have doomed them. In the past dropping that many ints would have been it. In the past that many penalties would have been their downfall. In the past, the Texans would have needed to play a near perfect game to have stood a chance against a quality opponent. The Texans showed last night that they are gritty and have resolve. They aren't the Texans of the past.
