An Observation and Analysis of a Specific Potential Manning Weakness

Good post.....including the story. Yours is not one that is unusual. Everyday in life, we learn to adjust to our weaknesses. The point to my beginning this thread was to identify his weakness......and leave it out there to find ways of cutting off his routes of the "adjusting/compensating" that you have presented as being so important in your particular "recovery."

Question: would his grip suffer from any of this?

I think I can sum up what Doc was saying in a few words,

If the Texans hit Manning all day, not necessarily sack but hit him just as he releases the ball, Manning will get flustered. Go back and look at the last game the Texans played against Manning in Houston. Mario and company hit him relentlessly and it frustrated Manning...

Manning hates to get hit, which is why Watt, Smith Barwin and Brooks need to make sure they hit him either for the sack or just to let Manning know they are there...

I don't know that it regresses. But how much he improves if at all, as I've stated before, is not predictable. While he has nerves that are not functioning properly, the weakened muscles and any compensating muscles are likely to be exposed to overuse and progressive fatigue and therefore further weakening.

The lack of the real refs may help the Texans. We should be less likely
to see Manning treated like fine China, as we've been accustomed to
(i.e. the b.s. call a couple years ago against Antonio Smith for his
phantom hit on the helmet of Peyton.)

Actually, I think it's exactly the opposite. With these replacement refs, the hometeams are getting more of the calls.

That's a scary story. Glad you were able to meaningfully recover.

I could see where Peyton was really "throwing his head" left trying to get more zip on the ball ..... and it came out weak. At this point, he can't throw it anymore imo.

An obvious weakness that Doc missed is the poorly fitting helmet. The Denver fans need to take up a collection and get poor Peyton a helmet that doesn't constrict the blood flow to his fivehead.
