Yep, since Holliday is limited to ST's he has to be special. He was anything but special against Miami. A worse version of Jacoby. IMHO

He needs to step it up if he want to keep his roster spot. I think he will step up. But that history has yet to be written.

Yeah, I figure Kubiak will give him about a three game leash. If he's not special by then I'm figuring he get's the boot.

Sure hope he can turn it around and look like he did in PS and maybe even be worked into the offence as some have talked about in other threads. There's got to be a way to take advantage of that world class speed. I'd sure like the coaching staff to figure out a way to make it happen.

Probably just getting familiar with what's out there in case OL injury....or if a starter (some still in flux) or backup fails to "gel." Our Oline and its composition still has questions......questions that are unlikely to be answered before we face formidable Ds.

Someone make a sticky'd thread that has one post in it:

"Tuesday try outs do not indicate that we're going to sign one of those players...nor does it indicate that THAT position is something we are unhappy about and that we're about to address that particular position."

We're looking at guys IN CASE we need to sign one later on. Doing research, getting guys on film. Preparing for IF we need help down the road.

Actually, I heard similar words directly from Rick Smith on one of the sports radio programs - must have been a week or so ago. It's the Texans' policy to bring a different position group in every week; so if (when?) the injury bug strikes they don't have to scramble to locate the proper replacement because they've done the intel work ahead of time.

Trying out street free agents isn't really sticky worthy. It would be nice for a poster to find the previous thread, but not absolutely necessary.

I think the Miller/Dumervil/Wolfe pass rush this week should help in answering the question of how they will do against an elite pass rush...

I remember an interview with Rick Smith in which he explained the process for these weekly workouts.

He mentioned a list they keep for players at each position, sort of like an "emergency list." The list consists of players they can call when they experience an injury at the position.

I wouldn't look at the workout as an indication for anything, just that they're looking to keep guys in mind in case anything ever happens.

I know they only look at these guys and aren't necessarily about to sign them, but you'd think they've got enough DB's on the roster despite the injury to Demps. Pretty deep in the numbers game.

Why didn't he make the Dolphins 53-man roster, anybody knows?

Perhaps not a good fit as the Dolphins are playing a 4-3 while the Pats a 3-4 ?

At today's presser Kubiak said "We do have nine linebackers on this team, so we have been a little heavy at linebacker", so I don't really expect them to sign another linebacker, but it leaves us with a roster spot open...Sharpton won't be ready for a few weeks at least (heard he's still on crutches).

That's not good if he's still on crutches! I hope that's a false rumor. He's been out since mid season last year and should've been off crutches a long time ago. He should be running, riding the exercise bike, and doing drills if he's coming off the PUP list shortly. If not, then he will probably be moved to IR and done for the season. Did he have a set back?

Yes, while rehabbing from the Quad issue he developed a hip problem. Sounds like he's done to me.

If pec0sb0b's "rumor" is valid, I would say that he had an additional surgical procedure that we find out about like many times we do.........after the fact.
Certainly not a good sign for return this year because they are not going to keep "dead wood" on the roster, just contemplating a POSSIBLE return.
