The security is there to prevent pileups and people getting trampled to death, that's about it. Unless they're riding side-by-side with you on it, they can't prevent much.

well he allegedly jumped onto the rail to ride it down so I'm guessing viewers gave that info. I sort of doubt ants in his pants caused him to jump on rail & no one mentioned anyone throwing him onto the rail so I bet horseplay is a good possibility. I like the idea of teleportation as AJ could maybe learn to do that and take a TD to end zone without injury

You can't protect people from being stupid. You can't. You put a bubble around the damn thing and some idiot will jump off just to bounce down on the bubble. That's just the way it is.

Reliant doesn't need to do a damn thing, other than get the damn things to work (I swear at least one is not running at our gate almost every game). They've got warnings posted on the escalators, they've got personnel at every entry point, and the 3½ foot walls along the entire ride. Keep your ass inside the ride at all times, and nothing stupid will happen.

Apparently we aren't the only stadium having such instances this week. Last night a fan fell from the upper level at the Georgia Dome.

Yeah, crap happens.

People know you aren't supposed to climb over handrails. What's to keep someone sitting in the 600's section of Reliant from walking to the edge and taking a swan dive off? Other than an electric chain link fence, there isn't much more you can do. If you want to do something stupid, you'll do it. Most people's brains are hard wired to where they won't take dumb risks....some aren't.

Between 12 AM and 12 AM (including at 12 AM)*: There will be no climbing onto or sliding down handrail and falling to your death.

Having worked on the project, I don't remember any construction fatalities. I really don't even remember any serious injuries reported. I'm getting old so my memory may be failing me. I do know that there were a couple of deaths related to Cowboy's Stadium whenever a tower crane fell over IIRC.
