I agree with you about all of that, but just not to the extent that Duane has a 55% discount on guaranteed money vs Mario. Even if he gets 30 M instead of 22.5, that's still a 40 % discount to Mario's money. And as we know, Duane has been more durable, he's just not missed much time.

tbh i was a little worried about his wife's influence on where he could end up playing. i get the impression she is one of those d-lister celebs trying to live a very high-profile lifestyle, duanes own version of lala anthony and we know how that worked out for the city of denver.

Maybe they made a verbal offer, but nothing that was official?

I think Dutch is right the Texans just couldn't make a real competitive offer. He had a pretty nice resume and I knew going into the off-season he was going to hit a big paycheck, the big argument was/is if he was going to play up to it.
