Late to the party, but he said he's going to work hard to rid himself of the one year wonder stereotypes. Said he really took advantage of given a starting spot.

Asked about what its like to go after the QB, said its so enticing. Very well spoken guy

Wade Philips said he isn't worried about the 1 year wonder risk. He sees what he's capable of, knows he can produce for a long time

Asked what contributed to the 9 fumbles, said he works hard on it in practice. Thats what he focuses on is taking the ball away

Very exciting time for his family, he's really excited to be here, happy to meet the coaches, loves the stadium and really feels like he's on a team where everyone wants to win. He said the coaches have really high expectations of him and doesn't want to fail them. Said he's ready to go to work

Has spent all his time training for the combine and workouts and so doesn't know much about how he is going to fit in specifically in Houston. He is ready to go and healthy

Said its a surreal feeling that he's going to play at the next level.

Said big 10 football has been good competition. Said he enjoyed competing against Mike Adams OT. Yes, he's only been in 1 year against big 10, but Phillips says JJ Watt was seen against the exact same type of competition.

Whitney hasn't talked to JJ yet, but has received rookie style tweets from the other guys

Part of the reason he came out early was to help his family and his community. It means a lot to him to go in the 1st round and he feels like his family worked hard to get him here and he wants to return that favor to them.
