Default Draft Spreadsheet

As I've done for several years now, I put together an Excel spreadsheet that collects information about a bunch of players who could be drafted, mainly focused on rating/rankings of the players. I like using it during the draft; since I don't know the college players all that well, it helps me undersand who is available, how players are generally rated, etc. I will usually add a column for actual position picked, fill that in as players are chosen, and occasionally re-sort on that column. Then, I have an easy list of "best available" at all times.

If you'd like it, the simpler version (that most people would probably prefer using) is HERE. There's a more complete one that I used to put the data together, but which is somewhat less usable here. That second one has information (on the following sheets) about things like 40 times, ht/weight/etc. off of the source websites, that is not on the more basic single sheet. But, it's tougher to work with, particularly to sort the way I like to.

On both spreadsheets, there's a "Weightings" sheet at the end, that you can use to adjust how much weight to give each of the 6 different rankings to get the average rank (I rate one of them at only 75%, and two at only 50% in the version I posted). You should be able to adjust the weights to give a ranking more or less weight as you'd prefer.

Finally, a few disclaimers. This is data pulled in the last couple of days off of public websites (so no subscriber-only info). Some of those sites might have updated rankings since I pulled them off (I list the date and site at the top of the ranking column). Also, I know there are some errors in the spreadsheet, but I think they will be relatively minor, and I don't have time to fix them. For example, a few players might be listed twice (especially a problem when players have nicknames, initials for names, or apostrophes in names), and there is at least one case where two players have the same name and the ranking is messed up.

Thanks for your hard work, man.

Normally, I do the same thing for myself and then merge my spreadsheet with yours. And then sharpen it by going through mock drafts and getting more feedback on guys.

I wasn't able to do it this year and I really appreciate having your sheet.

BTW, you might want to go ahead and add the filter to that main sheet.

I find it extremely helpful to sort and search by position that way.

CBSSports has a nice one page view of four guy's mocks at the above link,

Upper left corner you can click on "Round 2" to follow the expected picks into second day.

Just an update: I updated the list (fixed an error on Reuben Randle), and also added the column for adding the position actually chosen (with a filter to update more quickly).
