This has nothing to do with his combine 40 time, but I just don't think the Texans have an interest (early) in drafting Wright. Gary Kubiak has never favored short WRs. Not here in Houston or while the OC in Denver. The mold of a WCO WR is 6ft+ 200lb+ and I think the Texans will look for a wideout in that mold.

I would not be upset at all with Wright, but at this point I have other things/players in mind.

Yes, a 7th round pick. The Texans drafted Trindon Holliday, as well. They very well could take a slot receiver/returner that's under 6 ft at some point in the draft. But by that time, Wright will be well off the draft board.

I don't know what that has to do with anything. You said the offense favored bigger WR's (which it does), but that didn't stop him from playing DA quite a bit.

The fact that he was a 7th rd. pick just emphasizes the point. He especially shouldn't have seen the field much.

Yeah...I've seen David Anderson "start" before as the third WR...

And Kendall Wright isn't a slot receiver...Yeah he's kind of short, but he plays better out wide.

He already stated Anderson was a late round pick and we could get another but we're not wasting our first rounder on a glorified slot wr. Wright is gonna be a bust, mark it down

The question is: can Wright develope into a Steve Smith kind of receiver? If he has the potential, great, let`s draft him. Maybe he can be a Wes Welker for us? Great, let`s draft him. But it is a risky pick right now, because his measurables and his combine performance wouldn`t even warrant a 3d round pick. All we have to bet on is his college performance...

I don't think Kubiak would target a short WR for the WR2 position. At the end of the day Kubiak actually favored the taller and more of a project wr in Jones over the released Anderson if you want to really look at what happened. I can see Kubiak playing a shorter wr, but only in multiple wr packages...if he doesn't have anyone better on the roster. Kubiak wants big targets...that's why we run so many multiple TE packages with Andre as the lone wr. Blocking is important in this stretch p/a scheme. I think Lucky has it right here.

So do you think that if Steve Smith was available for cheap, Kubiak would rather play Jacoby or KW over him because they are bigger?

I already noted above that I agree that bigger WR's are more favorable in this offense, but talent trumps height at the end of the day.

My point about David Anderson was that even though he was small and not talented he still found plenty of playing time considering where he was drafted. I'm pretty sure that if Kubiak thought that a shorter wr was more talented than a bigger guy he'd play the smaller WR.

the two (breer and brooks) that had floyd dropping past 18, i'm trying to trade up and grab him. give up this years 2nd in a heartbeat for him.

Who do you think would want to move up?

Why would you want Alshon? He is one of the biggest risk in the draft?

Fleener is one of the safest picks.
