one team's trash is another team's treasure. there's countless examples around the league of players makiing a move to another team and having great seasons and even careers. i think its easy for fans to say that a CB got beat or burned when in fact he may have been expecting help from a Safety. and another thing, i don't care how good of a CB you are, you can't chase a WR around for extended periods of time and shut him down if the Dline isn't getting any pressure on the QB. as for Patrick Buchanon, let's just wait and see how the season goes. if we would have had charger fans in here last season talking about steve foley like buchanon, all of us texan fans would be saying the same things as the raider fans are now.

It was a good move for the Texans regardless of whether he works out or not. They are paying him like a second day draft pick for the next two years. If he only plays in the dime and contributes on special teams then we are getting value for him. And, if they are able to turn his immense talent into a good player, then we got a steal.

We were just one of many teams that went calling after his services, that will easily be worth a second & third rounder. Think about how many seconds or thirds really pan out.......35-65. At least this guy is somewhat of a veteran, will be a featured starter, has someone in town he is comfortable with, AJ, and can really get his swagger on, with D-Rob on the other side! Word has it, if AJ was not here, signing him would have been tough, but AJ loves the city and we love him back. So show your love to the newest member of the dynamic duo! P-Buc(Batman) and D-Rob(Robin)
With Buchanon we should have more flexibility as far as blitzing, I don't remember if Glen blitzed much or not but I'm sure Buchanon has more speed and we can send on corner blitzes with either one of our corners.

p-buch will handle his. what most people don't understand is that cb's have to have a swagger to them. some take it over the top, the good ones can control it and pull it out when they need it. he needs help controling his swagger.

so what he got beat quite a bit. the kid is young. he'll learn in our system. he'll see that if he plays in our system uses his ability he will be able to have 5+ picks like d-rob. plus the guy is a very good return man. we will get our money's worth. then we can re-up his contract for a medium length...over time i can seriously see d-rob and p-buc being the second coming of the eagles dynamic duo....bobby taylor and troy vincent.

its not non sense about the coaching, i watch every game... their coaching is garbage, i can pick up the paper everyday and read some garbage about the raiders.. he has no problem coming here, and has been positive about everything, he got put into a situation in oakland, and he wanted out, woodson wanted out two or it might have been 3 years ago, and you the raiders tagged him to keep him. the coaching in oakland cant control anyone, there are way to many different personalities, and to many "me" players... thats what the raiders are known for.... everyone was saying last year that turner was getting walked all over... if a coach isnt demanding respect then the players the raiders have will never listen... now that PB is on a good team, will good influences around him, that are close to him, like AJ, and coaches that will demand stuff from him, CBs coach Hoke... he will be in the right environment to thrive in

It will be interesting to see how Fabian Washington does in a defense that can't get a rush. One benefit of having less to look forward to in the recent draft is watching the Raiders' defense on late Sunday afternoon. It seems they could of actually regressed. It looks like they pulled a K.C. by keeping the same players that got torched the year before except now they won't have P.B. or Harris. I may have forgotten something but I can't recall any big acquisitions for their defense. Their offense will be even more interesting it's just going to take 40 pts/gm to go .500. As for PB if he can become more responsible in his coverage he has all the making of a quality CB. You just can't judge a guy when the opposing QB had all day to throw. Hopefully he didn't just walk into a similar situation.

No, RFA status is reserved for players without a contract with less than four accrued seasons in the NFL. PB signed a five year contract as a rookie so he will go straight to UFA when his contract is up. Look for the Texans to play him under his current contract in 2005 and if he performs to their hopes, sign him to a new contract prior to the end of the 2006 season.

Fair enough. But I believe we are all just going to have to wait till pre-season or season start to see if he can play in the Texans scheme.

If he makes good plays and gets burnt on plays also, then we break even with letting Glenn go.

Yeah, the Raiders wanted Buchanon to leave, so they could bring in Moss. Let one bad attitude go for the second worst attitude in the NFL. I'm sure that the fine people of Oakland will be so glad to see Moss driving around town using police officers for hood ornaments, and ashing his blunt out the window like it's a cigarette.

Be honest with ya'll i'm hoping pb's new surrounding, fresh start, and a old running mate and fellow The U. AJ, and our tight rope staff will give him the foundation they gave dunta last year.

His athletic skills are there we all knwo that. Redskins considered trading the #9 pick for him from what i heard rumored before the draft so he was definitely wanted.

Let's just hope we have enough to get him mentally where he needs to be.

I think this is reasonable, you would be surprised what a group of stable minded individuals can do for a player. But I also hope that some of that attitude on the feild will rub off on our defence, we kind of need some swager and confidence on the feild. Heck I wish we had a big nasty mean O-Linemen, the kind that gets into the other O-Linemen when they make repeated mistakes, and he himself makes verry few mistakes. I guess what I'm saying is, we NEED some Ray Lewis types on this team, without the off the feild problems.
