Good. The NFL downsizing the punishments from before would have voided the seriousness of the offenses and the punishments.

Goodell going after the players will be an interesting battle however, and is one that might have some ugly ramifications with the NFLPA when the nitty gritty begins.

Considering the penalties he laid down against some players last season, I don't Goodell being the least bit intimidated by the NFLPA. He's out for blood.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I don't think that he is intimidated by the NFLPA one tiny bit. After how strung out the lockout process became, I wouldn't be surprised to see court challenges appearing against the NFL for their punishments/coaches involved/players involved before too long.

I definitely don't see this ordeal ending anytime soon, or without a lot more ugliness.

I still say, if the NFL has been "monitoring" this activity since 2007, who's next? Where are the other guilty parties?? Who else was "warned"?

Just like the baseball steroids scandal, it'll take time to leak out, but it'll happen. I think Sean Peyton deserves an indefinite suspension as well, not just one year.

Make the 2009 season a season without a SB winner! Make the Saints, and every player, refund the NFL every damn dime, and have every SB ring returned ASAP! THAT should be punishment enough for the players, and should get everyone's attention real fast! JMO
