I understand that people want to improve the WR position. I even love Kendall Wright but there are other positions that literally have no reliable depth and it's not like our passing game has sucked for the last few years. Hell in 2010 we were number one in yards. Last year we were doing well before Schaub went down.
I know there is no superstar other than Johnson but do you really think adding a rookie WR (other than Floyd or Blackman) is going to be more benificial to our team than adding depth on the OL. What about TE? We only have 2 on the roster and one of them will be 30 next year, has an injury history and a huge contract. The other one has had one catch in two years. We run a lot of 2 TE sets. WR A. Johnson K. Walter J. Jones L. Jean J. Iglesias J. Maehl T. Holliday TE O. Daniels G. Graham What about Inside Linebacker? After Cushing who on that list would you like to see get significant playing time? B. Cushing D. Sharpton Coming off a season ending injury. D. Smith Who??? M. Alexander No way! Hell look at our depth at Offensive Tackle D. Newton 7th rounder? A. Gardner ooh!!!! And Offensive Guard T. Austin ![]() And Defensive End T. Jamison R. Harris ![]() Nose Tackle E. Mitchell Really?? Now look at Outside Linebacker C. Barwin B. Reed Played as well as you could ask them to. Both are solid starters and won't come off the field much. B. Braman J. Nading Not household names but I would take them and their limited snaps to date over any of the depth at nearly any other position. I'm not trying to make it look like WR and OLB are perfect but neither position is as bad as what many many here are trying to make it out to be. There is no way we are going into this draft thinking we have to draft a WR and an OLB with our first two picks. Only message board drafters do that. I think a lot of people here are going to be really disappointed after the draft. |

I know 99% disagree, but I would take Fleener over Wright. But my #1 choice is Perry, then an ILB, then we can worry about OL depth and a WR.

Final mock draft of 2012
1 Indianapolis - Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford 2 Washington – Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor 3 Minnesota - Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU 4 Cleveland - Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama 5 Jacksonville - Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma St. (trade with Tampa) Z-Report Says - Jacksonville covets a wide receiver and I can see them trading up just a couple of spot to make that happen since Tampa can make do without Kalil.6 Buffalo - Matt Kalil, LT, USC (trade with St.Louis) Z-Report Says - The only team more desperate for help at left tackle would be Arizona, but they don’t have enough ammo to come and get Kalil. The Rams want to move back and the Bills want Kalil. This trade could very well happen if Minnesota takes Claiborne and the Browns take Richardson.7 Tampa Bay - Luke Kuechley, LB, Boston College (trade with Jacksonville) 8 Miami - Ryan Tannehill, QB, Texas A&M 9 Carolina - Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina 10 St. Louis - Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame (trade with Buffalo) 11 Kansas City - Dontari Poe, DT, Memphis 12 Seattle - Fletcher Cox, DT, Mississippi State 13 Arizona – Riley Reiff, OT, Iowa Z-Report Says - The Cardinals need tackle help in the worst way and this is simply too early for Riley Reiff or Cordy Glenn. Look for the Cardinals to try and trade this pick and pick up another draft pick since they gave away their 2nd this year in exchange for Kevin Kolb. If they stand pat,14 Dallas - Mark Barron, SS, Alabama 15 Philadelphia - Michael Brockers, DT, LSU 16 New York Jets - Chandler Jones, DE/OLB, Syracuse 17 Cincinnati - Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina 18 San Diego - David DeCastro, OG, Stanford 19 Chicago - Shea McClellin, DE, Boise State 20 Tennessee - Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama 21 Cincinnati - Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor 22 Cleveland - Melvin Ingram, OLB, South Carolina 23 Detroit - Cordy Glenn, OT/OG, Georgia 24 Green Bay - Jerel Worthy, DT, Michigan State (trade with Pittsburgh) Z-Report Says - The Packers have plenty of picks and will likely move up in this year’s first round to target a player on the defensive side of the ball. If they wait around this long, they could move up and grab Worthy whose physical build reminds me of Cullen Jenkins.25 Denver - Dont’a Hightower, ILB, Alabama 26 Houston - Courtney Upshaw, DE, Alabama 27 New England – Whitney Mercilus, DE, Illinois 28 Pittsburgh - Kevin Zeitler, OG, Wisconsin (trade with Green Bay) 29 Baltimore - Nick Perry, OLB, USC 30 San Francisco - Amini Silatolu, OG, Midwestern State 31 New England - Stephen Hill, WR, Georgia Tech 32 New York Giants - Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford |
