The way the trend is going I think it's just a matter of time. Which Texan player do you think will be the first one to holdout for a new contract after having a good year the previous year?
I would think Buchanon. The problem is if he has a good year this year more than likely the team will offer him an extension the following year. There would be no reason to holdout. Maybe AJ if he goes to another Probowl.

the thing is that it is a two way street, there is no such thing as honoring contracts anymore. Players can get cut at anytime, Sharper, Glenn, etc. So Holding out happens too. |

We will have our holdouts in time. We are not immune to them. I won't worry about that until we have a problem though. Why pre-worry?

![]() I don't see DD in a position of power with the past two years of performance. However, just because I feel that way doesn't mean he will. |

IMHO, it would be DD.
I talked about this in another thread. I'm a big DD fan...but he'll have another good season (barring injury or fumble problems) and finish with 1,000+ yds. Then, he'll test the Texans and see where the loyalty lies. I think he's scratching his head right now, wondering why we picked up a RB where we did in the draft. From what I saw in his chat room sessions last year, he's extremely confident in himself to the point that he wants to be the star RB wherever he plays. Can't blame him for that, when you think about it. However, you gotta think to yourself, "If it came down to it, in a contract dispute, would he trust in the Texans or would he skate town for bigger bucks?" They're in it for the love of the game, but also for the dollars. I wish more of the stars were willing to re-structure to keep teams together for several years at a time. |

Coleman or Andre Johnson. Johnson's agent is a relative I believe so that to me will play a huge role in it. I do believe that we will try to renegotiate before that happens though.

DD is a RFA next year. He won't hold out either. He has no leverage, plus he is too easy to replace.

I personally feel that if Davis playes like he has been that the Texans will gladly give him an extension. He hasn't hit the "GREAT" status yet, but I feel that the ofensive line will improve this year, especially in the running game and it will benefit Davis greatly.

I don't think DD will hold out. There is a question in his ability to stay healthy all season and take the punishment. I think he's better suited to the platoon RB scenario, splitting carries with another back to keep him from wearing out too quickly.
Other teams recognize this, too, so he'd have a tough time demanding a lot of money. |

i'll be the first hold out next year. i mean i'm 25, slow, wouldn't pass a drug test, and haven't played since middle school. i want 10 mil a year and they're offering me 0. i mean they don't even acknowledge i'm on the team. wouldn't you hold out too?

I can see DRob as Houston's first contract holdout. A couple more strong seasons on his rookie contract and he may be wanting to be paid as some of the top free agent corners are being (over)paid.
I HATE hold outs that are still under contract RFA holdouts, or Franchise players holdouts don't bother me as much.
