DL looks deep with talent/athleticism this year,
Running, these guys are flat off the charts. We've seen 340 lb. guys running 10 yard splits that equal last years average for OLBs, who are typically ~100 lbs. lighter! 10 guys less than or equal to 1.6 sec. 10 yard splits! I wouldn't have an issue with Texans grabbing a NT at 26. |

I think Fletcher Cox fits in well with our one gap system.....

They were comparring Poe to Ngata last night. If he has that potential, you have to take him at 26.
Nick Perry was a beast at USC but I don't know how he grades at OLB. |

One of the D-lineman, defensive lineman, ran a 1.50 10 split...
NFLN just revealed Deoin Sander's 40 numbers -- 4.27, 1.50 10 split. (5 11 3/4"/182 lbs.) |

Poe put up impressive numbers, but the on-field production doesnt make me feel warm and fuzzy. Not sure what to believe.

Methinks the same thing. I just can't find any gametape of him being Haloti Ngata. He is mildly disruptive. How much interior offense line talent did he face in C-USA though?

And I'm already pegging Georgia Tech's Stephen Hill to be this year's DHB.

Pop in Haloti Ngata's tape at Oregon and then watch Poe's tape and try to tell me that they are even remotely similar. What a joke.
I'll give the guy credit for being an amazing athlete, especially for his size. He's a better athlete than most of the top DL from BCS conferences. Which begs the question: If he is so talented, and played against a low level of competition, why does his tape look like ****? |

What do you guys think of Hebron Fangupo? NT out of BYU.
He played at USC before transferring because his wife was attacked in their Los Angeles apartment. He goes 6'1" 323. I'm more a fan of the smaller NTs, but if we really want a plugger I like him in the 4th or 5th round. He is a limited athlete but very strong and tough to move. Plays high at times but that can be corrected. He is purely a two gap guy. He won't be getting anywhere near the QB on passing plays. He is an older guy. Went on a two year mission before beginning his college career. Also seems to be a high character guy with a great work ethic. I gotta say if we want a run stuffer I would rather take him in the 4th than Poe in the 1st. Poe is the superior athlete by far, but Fangupo looks better on tape. He destroyed the Texas interior OL when they played early this season. Plus, he comes much cheaper. Which is great when you consider that a two gap NT won't be on the field on passing downs. |

Campbell was a 4th round pick. A workout warrior, certainly. But, hardly a reach. In fact, Campbell was the only blemish on what had to be Al Davis' best draft in a decade.

I've been looking at him since you posted your mock and really liking what I'm reading. I know it's nit picky but I wonder if he could add 10-15 lbs. without losing his speed or athleticism. He's listed at 298 lbs. but I'd really like to get a quick/athletic guy in the 310 lbs. range.

The 3rd rd or later is where teams should take chances on guys with the best measuarbles but lackof production in college. In relation to where DHB was picked (7th) he was a terrible pick. But he seemed to be coming into his own last yr before Jason Campbell got hurt. I seem to remember DHB doing a pretty good job burning the Texans secondary last yr. His main problem is his QB's have included Russell/Bolller/Campbell etc... not exactly Rodgers/Brady/Brees. LOL DHB is a really good player who should get better with Palmer at QB. I would take DHB any day at WR2 over whoever the Texans could pick at #26. I know this isn't a popular stance on DHB, but he is a player. A really cheap though injury prone guy I would look at signing after a in depth physical is Chaz Schillens. This guy is big/fast and has good hands. His problem is it took him 2 yrs to recover from foot surgery. (not uncommon) If he checks out medically the Texans should sign him. (Not that I trust the Texans medical staff) He would be a great compliment to AJ as WR2. IMHO |
