Eagles | Mitchell Release Official - from www.KFFL.com
Fri, 6 May 2005 11:11:30 -0700 Updating a previous report, the Philadelphia Eagles have officially announced they have terminated the contract of WR Freddie Mitchell. "We appreciate everything Freddie has contributed to the Eagles organization over the last four years," said head coach Reid. "By releasing him now, it gives him the opportunity for a new start with another team in the NFL."

We have at least four recievers better than him already in Johnson, Gaffney, Bradford, and Mathis if not Armstrong. Mitchel is all hype and all he can do is talk.

I have to agree i personally like freddie (The Peoples champ) But he didn't know his role freddie is a # 2 reciever not a franchise and on top of that i felt he was trying to be terrell to hard and got pissed off when nobody backed him

I personally think the whole Freddie thing is an act. A lot like the press interviews Deion use to do back in the day. Its all about selling yourself, and he does that pretty well to be honest, too bad he doesn't back it up on the field.

It's gotta be pretty bad when your own HC tells you straight up he does not want you at mini camp ...

Freddie Mitchel would be like signing a slower Bradford. There is not much point in signing him. We have tons of young talent at WR we just need to get them healthy and on the field to see what they can do. Hope to see all of you when training camp starts.

Wow, why would they release FredEx? I mean he did have like 5 rec. and 80 yards when TO was out, how will they replace that production?

We talk about not wanting guys that are cancer in locker rooms. This guy has proven to be a full blown cancer already. No thanks.

"I would just like to thank my hands for being so great"
Yeah, he said that. No I do not want him on this team. A player who talks the talk, but doesnt walk the walk. Sounds immature, and needs to realize he is what he is. Besides, do we want to use him, and take up a spot for one of our younger recievers who could have a breakout year?

On the Denver station, they are discussing whether he would work for the Broncos. The Broncs NEED a reciever (Smith is getting older than dirt), but so far no one wants him. I suspect he may have some difficulty finding a home.
