New Orleans at San Fran is just about to get going.

Looks like a great matchup to me. SF will have to come out and try and keep it tight - the longer this game is within a score, the more you have to like the 49ers to win. The Saints could have the game won early though - they're receiving the ball first, and easily have the talent to put this game to bed before the half. A classic offensive team vs defensive team matchup.

Woooo...thank goodness the week is finally over. It's football time!

Oh boy - New Orleans drive grinds to a stop - save for a big Pass Interference call. Don't agree with that at all.

WOW. Pierre Thomas with the fumble. A fantastic tackle from Donte Whitner - not only saved a certain touchdown, but caused a turnover. Massive play.

Just saw two great hits by Whitner.... forgot which receiver, but as soon as he catches the ball, Whitner hits him in the hip, wraps him up & takes him down.

No defenseless receiver rule, since he didn't launch himself, use the crown of the helmet, or hit the receiver above the shoulders.....

That last one, Whitner hits the runner, helmet to helmet & all that, knocked the dude out, I think...... but he's a running back & that's legal.

This league still has a lot of hard hitting.

Alex Smith was hit in the helmet on that fumble. If that was Cushing or Watt it would of been a flag and a automatic first down followed by a 15k fine.

Thomas had established himself as a runner after the catch, Runners have no helmet to helmet protection, just "receivers" and Quarterbacks, "receivers are anyone in the process of making a catch, after they make a "football move" which basically means they have gained enough awareness to protect themselves as a runner, they can be hit helmet to helmet.
