I hope he can still play. I really want to see what Romeo can do with Winslow, and Edwards.

It depends on who is agent is. I am guessing it wasnt in his contract because it wasnt mentioned in the article. Otherwise he can lose some money.

At the rate he is going he may never see playing time again, he is turning in to another wasted 1st round pick from the Butch Davis era.

I hope the guy is ok, seems to be a little careless, riding without his helmet straped on.

Winslow's head is so big, I'm surprised he could get it on over his ego, much less get the strap fastened.

Man I just want to see what this guy has to offer because on Madden he kicks booty but looks like we may never see what he has if he has more injuries.

Why? The tight end position was actually the deepest and most productive on the team last year.

Well if he is hurt, losing your start-to-be TE doesnt help your team. I think Romeo can get this franchise headed in the right direction. I still think this will be a rough year for them. This season kinda depends on their Defense.

KW2 is not very smart. He should be thinking of his team first. Maybe they should hire a team representative to follow him around. I hope he is alright.

Default Winsolw

I know that Winslow breached his contract like Jeff Kent two years ago, yet I hope that the Browns do not act in trying to recover cash. That would truly be classless. They don't need to recoup his signing bonus.

http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm

Quote:
WINSLOW TO LOSE MORE THAN $9 MILLION?

Setting aside for now the question of whether Browns tight end Kellen Winslow should have been riding a motorcycle as he still rehabs from a broken leg that scuttled his 2004 rookie season (and prevented him from earning a big-money bonus payment by failing to participate in 30 percent of the team's offensive snaps), we've gotten a look-see at Winslow's contract, which indicates that he shouldn't have been riding a motorcycle at all. Ever. Period.

As a general matter, Winslow has breached Paragraph 3 of his contract, which prevents him from "engag[ing] in any activity other than football which may involve a significant risk of personal injury."

And this breach could have significant consequences. Winslow's motorcycling allows the team (if it so chooses) to recover $5 million of his initial signing bonus and the full $4.4125 million of his option bonus triggered at the outset of the 2005 league year, $2.4125 million of which won't actually be paid to Winslow until July 15.

So the total potential price tag on Winslow's deliberate failure to comply with the terms of his contract is a whopping $9.4125 million.

I would do it. Set an example, and get some money back to have more wiggle room. Besides, its not like Romeo drafted the guy.

i'll tell you why it'll hurt the team badly...because he was their 1st round pick in 04...because your first round picks should be the main building blocks of your franchise...they passed on several other players and even traded up a spot to get him in the draft...if you make a move like that to get a player that player better be worth it...and so far they've gotten just about nothing in return for their investment...just like their other 1st round picks...tim couch, courtney brown, gernald warren, and kevin winslow jr...what a waste of talent...i hope braylon edwards starts a positive trend for romeo
