This seems like as good a thread as any to post a link to a tremendous feel good article (Like any of us really need any help in that area).

Texans 31, Bengals 10: Five things we learned

1. The Texans’ smart approach to the final weeks of the season paid off.
Houston flew criminally under the radar during their 10-3 start, completely ignored by the NFL media because they didn’t have any easy storylines. All they did was a little bit of everything right.

Then, when they closed with a three-game losing streak, they were doubly dismissed. Rookie QB, franchise with no history? Forget em.

But turns out the Texans were getting themselves ready for bigger and better things...

5. Houston’s future is pretty damn bright.
Ready for the list of key Texans that are aged 31 or older?

Here it is: no one.

You might be right, man. They were going for it either way, in all likelihood, but the timeout made Lewis reconsider the fake punt.

It's like all the bad mojo from this season reversed itself and attached itself to the Bengals today. After the JJ Watt TD (which is weird, btw, to say that...LOL) it was like everything disintegrated for the Bengals. Their coach blew their challenges, timeouts, and generally couldn't do much of anything right.

Outside of their first TD on their first possession, and a field goal, they did nothing else to even threaten scoring again. I think it was the rowdy Reliant crowd, the players' losing a bit of "heart" due to the panicking nature of Marvin Lewis, and obviously a Texans team on both sides of the ball that smelled blood and went into feeding frenzy mode.

If I attended the game today, they would've had to escort me out of Reliant because I would stay there in the stadium until asked to leave. Just staring at the field. I'm not even kidding, either.

Without that 52 yards PI penalty this was a different game from the outset. They couldnt run the ball which negated any further play action.

The Jags changed into a trick formation on a 4th down, and Kubiak just frooze like a deer in the headlights. The Jags scored a TD on the play. This time, in the biggest game of his head coaching career, Kubiak was decisive and stopped the play before it started. Had Cincy converted there, it could have been a momentum swing. A very underrated move by Kubiak that was key to the game.

It happened this season against the Raiders and was the play that sealed the outcome of that game ..... I think you guy's are right , he sniffed out that fake and Lewis changed the call.

Having a defense you can lean on is one hell of a luxury ....

Yep, the timeout and the Watt interception were the 2 biggest plays of the game. IMHO

Our offense is nowhere near as explosive as it has been in previous years, even before Schaub went down, but our running game and offensive line play have been stellar!

I give all credit this season to the son of Bum!

Kubiak is as good as he's always been.

Kubiak is as good as he's always been.

You have to spread that praise around , Wade and Gary both deserve a lot.


Wades defense has anchored this seasons team since .... But they dont win without Gary's offense .... and 5th round pick rookie QB who looked anything but yesterday on the big stage ....


Kubiaks play design is nothing short of genius ..... How many times do we see #80 with no one within 10 yards of him ? ..... Thats not suppose to happen with at least two defenders responsible for him.
How bout the game winner Yates threw to Walter in the first meeting with the Bengals ..... a perfect route combination leading to a wide open reciever.

They made an awful lot of plays like that this season ...

Hey, I'm not saying Kubiak isn't doing a hell of a job, I'm just saying he's doing the same with his offense that he always has.

Nothing has changed about Kubiak, he's doing great with the offense.

I don't see why he needs props for being forced to hire a real defensive coordinator, though.
