Default Breakdown of AFC South by age

I was bored while wife was reading and my son was watching Barney, so I made a list of probable starters and their age for each team in our division. I got most of them from the depth charts on NFL.com, but I changed a few of our positions based on mini-camp news. I haven't kept up with the other teams as much as I have the Texans though. We have the youngest offense by a decent margin, but our defense is the oldest in the division. One thing we do have this year though is good, young, experienced depth, but I didn't go that far with the chart. Ages were calculated based on their age on July 31st of this year, around the start of trainging camp. Hopefully it will post correctly.

It is sad. I will sit though 35 minutes of Sportcenter just to read the scrolling caption NFL icon. Cant stand t.v. except when football is on. Crazy.

Dont have a PS2 but it is on the list. My nephew has Madden 04 and when we go to visit I have a field day playing with Houston. He thinks that I am nuts for pulling for an expansion team - but it is Houston, you just gotta. And in April, the draft is cool and all, but you just dont get true satisfaction.

Please let the season begin.

In Madden 03, I took a NFL Europe team and led them to the superbowl in their 2nd year. It was difficult though.

That's crazy... I can't stand All-Pro and All-Madden, not really because of the insane difficulty, but because of the RIDICULOUS kick meter. I swear, MAYBE I'd have a chance if I could hit those 17 yard field goals and not have every opposing team start at their forty because I kicked the ball into the seats!!!

Do what I did when I had trouble kicking the ball, go to the training camp for kicking for that level. Thats what i did, after you do it for 10 minutes it slows down considerably. Or even go to practice a choose Kick-off. I treat Madden like real life, practice makes perfect. I know, pathetic...but it is for bragging rights with my friends.

But Madden level is tough, sometimes I just quit. But even playing that little bit on Madden makes beating up on my friends easier.

Thanks for the tip... I feel you on the Madden level. It gets really frustrating... I'm surprised I haven't breaken any of my controllers.

Not all the time, depends how I feel. I play a lot of exibitions on Madden and franchise's on All Pro. When playing on Madden, I change my approach to when I play against All Pro.

I am a ball control offense on Madden, works out better because I want to keep the ball out of the other teams hands and my defense turns from a blitizing team to a team that doesnt take many chances and I always double the top WR if I dont have a shutdown corner. The Rams kill me on Madden, I cant stop them.

On All-Pro, I just throw long.

Here is a defensive tip that works on All Pro:
When the other team is in 3-WR and you go to Nickel defense, choose the play when one LB blitzes (make sure that the other LB is covering the TE).
Next, move over the DT, that is closest to the LB, closer to the DE. Leave a gap though.
Then place the LB that is going to blitz a couple of steps behind the little gap and if everything works out the T will take the DE, the G the tackle and the LB will go one on one with the RB.
I get 20 sack LBs all the time with that strategy.

Thanks for the defensive tip... but throwing long in Madden gets ANNOYING at times... They really need to fix the defensive pass interference for Madden 2005... It has cost me several, I mean SEVERAL games. (I am undefeated against the computer, only because when I am certain I will lose or the last play doesn't go my way, I simply quit... )

They made the corners better in Madden 05
Quote:
We started over and re-did our DB coverage, especially man-to-man. Good DBs will just blanket their receivers this year. We really feel that we've portrayed the shut-down corners extremely well, and it will actually force the offense to rely more on strategy and mismatches than money plays. Adding to that, defensive matchups let you assign a particular defensive player to cover a certain guy all game. Imagine sticking Champ Bailey on Randy Moss, and not really having to worry about that side of the field for the rest of the game. We also added defensive hot routes where you can customize nearly everything about your defense before the snap. There are just too many things to mention -- it truly is an exciting year for defense.
