Default Alan Burge:Injuries the story for Texans Monday

Quote:
If this was a normal week, the Texans would have assembled at Reliant Stadium this morning for team meetings and a debrief from Sunday's game. Players would have received treatment for aches and pains and everyone would have gone home to enjoy their normal day off on Tuesday.

But since this is a short week - the Texans play at Indy on Thursday - the entire weekly schedule gets tossed.

Improvise is the word of the week. And like in past weeks, so is Injuries.

The good news after the Texans ulgy loss to Carolina is there have been no reports of the Texans continuing their streak of losing a starter every week.

The bad news is that the first injury report of the week reads a bit like War and Peace.

Nick Scurfield from the Texans reports 17 players on the Monday injury report with DNP or Limited status

Of course since this is a short week and one day after a game, this is only an estimation of what the Texans injury report would be if there was an actual practice today.
Quote:
Yates with a right shoulder and Joseph with a hammy are a couple to watch on the Limiteds.

Texans Monday Injury Report:

Did Not Participate in Practice

G Mike Brisiel (Ankle), NT Shaun Cody (Knee), TE Owen Daniels (Knee), WR Andre Johnson (Hamstring), CB Sherrick McManis (Ankle), FS Troy Nolan (Ankle)

Limited Participation in Practice
G Antoine Caldwell (Ankle), FB James Casey (Foot), TE Joel Dreessen (Knee/Wrist), WR Jacoby Jones (Foot), CB Johnathan Joseph (Hamstring), NT Earl Mitchell (Knee), LB Jesse Nading (Knee), SS Glover Quin (Ankle), DE Antonio Smith (Ankle), RB Ben Tate (Hamstring), QB T.J. Yates (R. Shoulder)

Full Participation in Practice
CB Jason Allen (Thumb), DE Tim Bulman (Calf), CB Brandon Harris (Hip), DE Tim Jamison (Ankle), C Chris Myers (Knee), WR Kevin Walter (Quad)

That injury list actually looks pretty good considering we've lost a player for the season for four games in a row before the Carolina one.

OD came back in the game after he got hurt Sunday, so I'm thinking he didn't practice just as a precaution. What happened to Cody though?

Cody got nicked up in practice on Friday before the Panthers game.

Yates has evidently had an elbow problem over the past week and now has been reported with a shoulder problem. Hope we aren't seeing a compensatory injury developing.

Nolan has an ankle injury which was to be evaluated today, but has yet to be characterized.

Yates made the tackle on both INTs.

A caller on a radio show last night said after the second tackle that when Yates came off the field he unbuckled both chin straps with his left hand.

Does anyone have the game recorded, to check this? It might not have made it on TV.

Is Yates' "injury" just a sneaky way to get Delhomme or Garcia some playing time?

At this point in the season, the Injury Report ought to be classified as:

A) Injury that we're trying to rehab, but would play if playoff game

B) Dude is REALLY hurt, we got him in the tub after we pulled him off the wheelchair.

C) Dude is hospitalized.
