As I have said before, the whole "Can't fire a coach during the season" argument is sheer nonsense. Once one team does it, they all do it.

I think they wanted to axe him at the end of the year, but he was in danger of winning out and making his players and fans fight to keep him.
Also, "wow" at Parcels failing to do anything of note with that team and a hearty "LOL" at all of the soapers who used Sparano and Haley as examples of what the Texans needed.

I thought the Patriots finished 11-5 that year under Cassel (although they missed the playoffs)
