I'm going to trade out of the first to around 40. Our 1st for a 2nd, 4th and 6th. If one of those QB's happen to fall like Landry Jones, or Tannehill I think there may be a team willing to trade up to get them.
*2) Kendall Wright, WR 5'10" 4.4 forty -- Good WR, Fast. Would make a really good slot guy for us. He is a play maker and has good hands. Would be an excellent pick at the top of the 2nd. 2) Stephon Gilmore, CB, South Carolina 6'1" 193 lbs -- Tall corner to add to the rotation. Can match up against some of the bigger WR's a little bit better. 3) Sylvester Williams, DT, North Carolina 6'3" 320lbs Quote:
*4) Nate Potter, OT, Boise State 6'6" 298 lbs -- Solid, athletic OT that can add size and develop into our swing guy. Never hurts to add quality depth to the Oline 4) Isaiah Pead, RB, Cincinatti 5'10" 200 lbs, 4.42 forty -- Would fit this scheme well. Solid in pass pro and would be good value is available here. I figure Ward is probably gone. Pead would be good insurance if one of our backs did go down. I don't think we've ever had a year where no back got injured. 5) Jaymes Brooks, OG, Virginia Tech 6'2" 308 lbs -- A good gaurd that would fit well into our scheme. I don't know if he challenges for a starting job but at the very least he improves the depth and competition. *6) Chris Gallipo, ILB, USC -- Again would be good value at this pick. Solid player, well built, played for a big time program. 6) Jeff Demps, RB, 4.26 forty -- Return guy mostly, but can play RB. Plays a lot of rb for the Gators. Splits time with Rainey I believe. One of the fastest guys in the draft. 7) Phillip Blake, OC, Baylor -- I think it's about time that we re-upped on the O-line. Would be a good potential backup for Meyers. |

2. Wright, I'd prefer one of the taller WR like Criner or Sanu in the 2nd but I can't argue much with Wright. He'd be an excellent slot WR for us. Good pick.
2. Gilmore, I don't think he falls to the 2nd round, his stock has dropped but I think he still goes in the 1st round. 3. Williams, Who? I can't find him listed on Walterfootball or CBSsports sites. I've never heard of him. 4. Potter, I think he goes higher than this, probably late 2nd round. 4. Pead, I don't know anything about him either but I like the size and speed combo and he'd fill a need at #3 RB. Good pick. 5. Brooks, Good pick fills a definite depth need. 6. Gallipo, I really like this pick but I think he goes earlier than this. If available he's a good pick and good value. 6. Demps, with the extra picks he probably goes onto the practice squad as emergency depth. Good pick. 7. Blake, good late round prospect if he can provide depth to the O-line. I've read that he's a developmental project but in the 7th round that's what you'll find. Good pick. |

SHould be able to get Wright #40 but why take the chance if he is your receiver? We are #27 now so get him there. He is perfect slot. Trade your 3rd & 5th like we did for Brandon Harris and get Casey Hayward CB in second @ NE's pick (if you think Wade is gonna draft another CB) Hayward is as good or imo better. Then use your own second round #91 on whoever you want. Can't see a DT no one has heard of going 3rd round.

The only thing that's not is Blake. He's rising to 3rd/4th rd range according to experts. |

I would absolutely be thrilled with this draft, but I'm not sure Wright and Pead last that long. Pead is gonna gain a lot of steam as the draft approaches. He'll be good value in the late 2nd, or 3rd round. Wright I think will blow the doors off running at the combine, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him jump Alshon come March.
The Demps pickup I would love though. The guy can flat out run. He's having a down year, but that's mainly because of the talent he's had around him this year. In an offense and scheme like the Texans, Kubiak would find ways to get this guy in the open field. The fact that he's a good receiver out of the backfield is gonna help him too. |
