Wade head coach 2012? - Houston Texans Message Board & Forum

I know some will say too early but I disagree. I have a thread about Kubiak winning coach of year so let's discuss this topic also. We all know the stats and we should also realize that owners of other teams know it also. Wade will surely get offers & while he is the highest paid NFL assistant coach, I believe, would he turn down a lucrative offer with the right team? If he went, would he likely take most of his Texans assistants with him? I am not running around saying the "sky is falling" but I hope McNair has a contingency plan.

Some have posted that Phillips now knows he is not a head coach but I think he would want another chance if right team came calling.

I honestly believe that Wade will stick it out here first. I believe Gary has learned alot this year and if anything deserves another year at this point based on how he held the team together.

I seem to recall a mention when the Texans first acquired him that he wasn't looking to be HC and was fine with DC. May be mis-remembering though.

No one can make Wade an offer if we don't allow them to.

i doubt kubiak is going anywhere after this season..keep wade on

NO...much like Dom Capers he's a GREAT DC, but not a head coach.

I think he stays here for a while. Hes getting paid and has some great players for his system. Plus he has ties to this city and a lot of family down here. Hell his sister was my 7th grade history teacher( hi Ms Huerta) down in needville, just right outside of Houston.

Why do people say this?

Wade has a pretty good regular season record as a head coach. His problem has been not winning in the play-offs. & honestly, I don't think he's had a whole lot of opportunities.

But as a head coach, he'll get you to the play-offs, that's proven.

I don't think that Wade will be a big name on the candidate list of hires. It seems like most people know and agree that he is better suited as a DC rather than a HC.

For the record he wasn't a bad HC with the Cowboys though. He was there and had two very good seasons, one of which was the best record in the entire NFC, and then they had two awful seasons.

+, I'm sure Wade's papa would disown him if he put Houston in his rearview. Nobody is more stoked to have Wade here as Bum is.

Everything is perfect! Rainbows everywhere, but let's not forget that rain caused the rainbows. It is amazing how some of you get stuck in "the moment" good or bad and do no planning ahead. Hope you don't live your lives that way? Let me eat cake now, I'll worry about flatulance later.

Come on, no one thinks it's a possibility let alone a probability? We see it going on right now on a local college level.
