We're actually #2 on defense in points per game at 16.6. The improvement in this team is downright scary.

The ranking of 6 comes from over all points allowed , some teams have not played 10 games yet though. and yes we are second in points per game. which kicks much Azz

dont wake me up, this is the best dream ever! (well, except for that one ...) . it's almost impossible to believe that the defense we've seen for so long has gone from worst to first basically overnight. more impressive without an offseason and we're just now getting our bye.

I understand why the national media isn't covering the Texans after so many years of letting everyone down, but this is a significant story. We went from worst to first without an offseason, and you never hear any sports pundit mention Wade Phillips.

I guess we'll just have to mow down the AFC playoffs before they give it to us.

You're listening to the wrong pundits. Every talking head I saw today - on CBS, on NFLN, and on Fox - said Wade was the most significant off-season pickup we made.

I wrote an article in January about Phillips impact on defenses. Every year, but one as a D.C., his teams had over 60 combined sacks and turnovers. The Texans have never reached 60 under Kubiak.

With 6 games to go, the Texans have: 28 sacks, 14 int., 6 FR... That puts them on pace to reach about 75. For me, that's as big of a stat as any. Clear evidence of the pressure the opposing Qbs are feeling every week.

NFLN is certainly talking about Texans goodness. Nothing but wonderful things from them. We still aren't getting the amount of air time other teams are, but still, when they talk about the Texans it's all good stuff. Now that's a change.
