Ernest Shazor was regarded a one of the center pieces of a very strong Michigan defense.. he's fast, smart and strong but for some reason he was over looked in the draft so.. with him being a Undrafted FA.. he will cost us little to no money and plus we could add depth to a Safety Core that consist of an aging Marcus Coleman and Glenn Earl..

I say sign him it couldn't hurt..

Also to let you know. The Texans were never interested in him. CC said yesterday on 610 am that he was to big to be a saftey and projected as a LB in the NFL but as a LB in the 4-3 not the 3-4.

Does anyone know why Ernest Shazor was not drafted? He was projected late 1st or early 2nd round.

The reason he was not drafted, was because he ran a slow 40 for a safety and deemed not to make it to NFL, but as a LB. Many teams thaught he didn't have many assets needed for a LB.

Sorry, but very, very few people were saying Boulware was too slow to play safety. His testing, especially the agility tests were off the charts at last year's combine. He was very high on my wish list for the Texans.

I may have exagerated by one very, but the fact is people knew Boulware was a football player prior to the combine. Then he blew away the agility tests and the rest is history. Very, very possible I am prejudiced--I thought he was the top SS prospect that year.
