I am not one to question the powers that be but I looked at the roster before the draft and noticed 16 linebackers... They must be terrible... if not why waste a pick on a linebacker instead of the very much needed protection for David Carr.

heck i aint even know we had that many. I like the kid out of GSU though but I have no idea what we are doing with 16.

Why did we go RB in the 3rd with Brown from UVA still there?

Well, if your rebuilding the LB corps, and you will have 4 of them on the field most of the time, wouldn't you want as many as possible to select a few gems from? Remember, speed kills, and thats what we are going at.

That means that there will be a lot of compition for a spot this year and we will get the best players. The free ride is over.

My guess would be that atleast half of them, not including our starters play on special teams at some point or another (kickoff returns and punts, field goal defense, etc.)

Umm, because the team had the RB rated higher than Brown.

Umm, because the team had the RB rated higher than Brown.

Well from what i have seen in years past LB make the best Special teams players. Check out Polk and not Chamberlin... So why not look at the other LB to play Special teams. The LB we have are fast, agile, and should be good cover men. `Personally i think minus the punter, snapper, and 2 gunners make the rest of the players LB's on special teams isnt a bad idea minus the fact they use too many roster spots. I am sure realistically prob 5 LB will be on special teams. So 16 isnt all that bad of a number
