Is anyone here going to accept a loss to the Titans and a 3-4 start?

I honestly believe Kubiak should be fired on the spot and have his name redacted from all Texans records if they lose in Nashville next week.

There will be some kind of positive win here if we lose next week. You can take that to the bank. It was on the road. We still have them at home. Something.

LOL I don't doubt that. And I don't want to diminish folks who are capable of sustaining that kind of positivity in their outlooks.

My mother used to say, "Hope springs eternal."

"our best players were not on the field"

"they're a better team than a lot of people give them credit for. they beat the ravens"

:)

I will be thoroughly PO and caling eveyone out. But as Vinny says, I am a sunshine pumper. THis is Gary & Matts do or die year.

We should sweep the division. Anything less than 6-0 is a failure.

Even without Andre and Mario we still have the best team in the division.

Not me.. But I refuse to act like an ass (again) or stop supporting my team. I'll wear my Texans gear with pride & I'll be anxiously sitting in my seat wearing battle red for Jax @ home.

:texan:

However, I already posted that I expect McNair to fire Kubiak if we lose 3 in a row... he probably won't, but I can't control that.

Yes, there will be plenty. I can probably name 10 off the top of my head.

"We can still go 12-4!"

"What about the players?"

"You can't blow up a team that's this close."

"How can you win with your top 2 player injured?"

Forget the fact that they've lost with the same 2 players for 5 years previous. Until this team is eliminated from the playoffs, we'll have sunshine pumped into the forum. I'm rolling with it. :butterfly:

No way no how. I'm on the DOOM wagon if they lose this game at Tennesse.

Good teams don't go on losing streaks.

True it is one game but there are points in the season where momentum can be changed. If the Texans had won in Balty today I think it would have been such a lift to the confidence to win against a tough team on the road without Andre...losing this game would be the opposite of that.

Allegedly, if 'heads rolled' at the post-Raiders game, I can't wait to see what happens if the Texans lose to the Tacks.

Accept? No. I've been a member of the pink soap club for a couple years now. Expect? I don't expect it, but to be honest with you, it wouldn't shock me.

Shouldn't it shock me?

**** no I won't accept it.

But do we have any insiders in the Texans organization who are going to relay our dismay? If not, then we're just fans, and we'll "have to" accept it until they get their heads out of their asses and get a new crew in.

Losing to the Titans would be UNacceptable. ESPECIALLY if Andre's back. Quite frankly, I expect to beat their ass. Badly.

Yep. Gary's Sunshine Kids always find the bright side of the bull's anus.

If this was a poll, I'd be the overwhelming majority would say they would not accept a loss to the Titans next week. But come next week, those excuses (along with many others) will come rising to the surface.

But, but, but, just leave Gary alone!!!!!

I'm not sure I understand what you mean about "acting like an ass."

Is it acting like an ass to expect a better product?

What if the manager of a restaurant you went to kept serving you substandard food and his waiters consistently spilled warm beer in your lap every time they brought a round to your table?

Would you be acting like an ass to be hoping the owner of that restaurant woke up and fired that manager?

i'm about as homer as it gets and have made every excuse possible (most of which i still stand by), but we simply cant lose next week. losing next week would be a backbreaker and kubiak's exit. i want to lay a ton of blame on smith (deservedly because we ARENT as talented as we appear despite bumping the cap and being so young), but if we lose here, it's a reach to save the season and even i cant muster a justification of keeping kubiak.

I'm sure some of the people you are thinking were just more positive than you and not necessary 'sunshine pumpers' and Kubiak supporters.

I mean do you want fans to give up on the team 4-5 games into the season?

Well, technically, it would be the seventh game of the sixth season.

Not exactly a short leash.

Well the 7th game true. But really, I saw people jumping off the wagon when we were 2-1 and lost to the Saints and some of those things were said. Is that sunshine pumping? I think that's just a fan who realizes that there are 13 more games left.

If people are still saying that after a Titan loss I agree with you. But not after the team is 3-2 or 2-1.

As for the sixth season thing, well I don't really consider the past season until the trend pops up again. Otherwise I don't think much on it. Some coaches take a while to get this head coaching thing right, look at Belichick, going to NE his past history would have said he was going to be mediocre and he turned out being one of the best of all time.

I used to point to Belichick the same way you just did as evidence that greatness can be waiting just around the corner from disappointment and failure.

But Belichick didn't get 6 years at Cleveland and he actually had a playoff season his 4th year in Cleveland. He then brought a winner to New England in his second year there.

To paraphrase Lloyd Bentsen: "I knew Bill Belichick. Bill Belichick was a friend of mine. Coach Kubiak, you're no Bill Belichick."

Well I didn't mean to use Belichick as a argument for keeping Kubiak. I want that to be clear.

It was more for the idea that past seasons even in a row mean a team can't break out and break a trend. Belichick made the playoffs then failed to the following year but he was still very mediocre as a coach.

But Kubiak has had way too much time here and losing to the Titans and going on the seemingly annual 4 game losing streak is more of the same.

I'm not even sure how to respond to that. I guess my answer is, why should I care if fans "give up" or not? All I want is a winning team. I can't make that happen (contrary to the suggestion in another thread). I'm being served another crap sandwich, and I don't like it. So I criticize the chef and the owner of the restaurant. I don't see what's wrong with that.

I wouldn't tip & I'd stop going to that restaurant.

Fair enough.

I just don't see why there has to be such a division between the fans who were still hopeful of a good season a few weeks ago vs the ones who weren't so positive about it. I think if you took a poll at the end of last year most people wanted Kubiak out of here.

I wouldn't tip & I'd stop going to that restaurant.

And there you have it. But no, they keep going and then want to tell the waiter how to carry beer, the cook how to cook, and the manager what he should do to really make his establishment top flight. Yet none of them have even the remotest idea of the restaurant industry or what it takes to have a successful restaurant...but I'm sure they stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I'm sure they'll try hard and be respectfull . I bet they'll even pick up their empty juice boxes after the game .

I'd like to think I won't accept it, but I'll probably find a way to get over it and look ahead. As for Kubiak's status, regardless of anyone feels, he's not gone until the end of the season if it falls apart this year.

Probably the response that realistically speaks for just about every Texans fan.

Pfff we are not going to lose next week infact i see a 3 game win streak into the bye

6-3 Baby !!!!!!!

I honestly believe Kubiak should be fired on the spot and have his name redacted from all Texans records if they lose in Nashville next week.

He should be escorted to his own bus, a bus that is spray-painted and has manure spread throughout the entire cabin area. And be forced to ride all the way to Colorado where he will be dropped off at the college of his choice so he can coach kids who want to battle out there and let him (Gary) accept the blame for not gettin' it done out there.

That's what I want. In fact, I want that even if we win the game. Win-win, IMO.

I laughed. Well done.

I can buy that. I want to say that the Texans will take care of business without AJ or Mario and right the ship against the titans. However, these teams hate each other b/c of old Houston vs. new Houston rivalry AND the titans probably smell blood.:kitten:

So, does a turd sandwich taste better if you eat it from the other end? :spin:

The only question whose answer matters is "Will McNair accept a loss to the Titans next week?", the answer of course being "Yes". Unfortunate as it may be, losing streak is going to get McNair to fire Kubiak mid-season, that's just not the way Uncle Bob operates. If it were, it would have happened last season.

No way we lose next week. And if we do, I'd expect heads to roll from GM to head coaching to scouting department . But , I know they won't do anything during the season

I want Kubiak gone right now, let alone after we lose to the Titans. Wouldn't suprise me a bit if we lost to the Titans this coming weekend, and to the Jags after that. It's what this team does. Which is why it needs a new leader.

Me too. I would not be surprised at all if we lose to the Titans next week. The surprise would be if we won.
