Turns out Schefter did a story on trades that should happen and people in the media ran with these stories as real so as of now Mathis - Wayne not on trade block

I didnt realize Mathis is only 245lb so would not work on D-Line maybe OLB? plus he too expensive

Seriously, @ 235-240 Mathis isn't going to be DLineman in our 3-4 or anybody else's. But 3-4 OLB for sure.

No I couldnt imagine it. Because Mathis would be destroyed as a DE in our defense. I would like to see Wayne as our #2 though.

I just looked it up mathis 245lb didnt realize he was that small.

Yeah, he hasn't been a regular starter in Indy for most of his career because the thought was he was too small to even be a 4-3 DE. It's kind of a shame he didn't get drafted by a 3-4 team and converted to OLB in the first place.

They must be preparing to draft luck and a bunch of other young talent.

Well, the rest of their team is quickly being decimated by injuries. Addai is even out now with what is reported as a multi-week hamstring.

This season might be lost but what kind of message are they sending Peyton who should be on the field next year, by trading away their best receiver and their 1B defensive player? Finish off your career with that 20 mil/year contract while we go into rebuild mode?

Remember the NFL is not a trading league (I am being the wet blanket). Trades with known names this week are a big deal. Chances of any, much less most Adam S's specualtion are pretty slim.

I'd love to see Wayne in a Texans uniform. I don't think we'd be able to keep him from a cap standpoint. If they are really willing to trade him, you gotta think the Colts are going for the Andrew Luck sweepstakes. They probably are the front runners now anyway, why not go down on the cheap and let the team rebuild.

My guess is that they know that Manning is not coming along as expected and is probably not going to be able to come back this season if at all. I think they're cutting their losses and planning for their new franchise QB

Perhaps we could switch back to a 4-3 or play a combination of 3-4 and 4-3 and use Mathias then?

I still like Reggie Wayne, if he is available give the Colts what they want and get that man!

We can't afford either of these guys. Would have to send significant money back to the Colts just to make it work under the cap. So no, it's not gonna happen for us.
