This is just my personal opinion some of you may share it some of you may not.
The real problem with this team is two fold. 1: We do not know how to play with the lead. I say this because we have seen tim and again we get a lead 14 or so points and then we go to a clock running game. As I have noticed this does not work for us, most of the time it ends with 3 and outs. We dont have the go for the throught attitude. What i mean by that is when you have the lead you go for more. I think Kubes has the wrong mentality for this. He seams to want to be the nice guy and not put 50 on someone, which by the way this team can do. This in my humble opinion is a coaching and preperation issue. Too many times have we been the "nice guys' and let teams back into games they have no reason to be in. 2: Mid Game adjustments,. this organization makes horrible or no mid game adjustments. we dont change anything about our game from half to half. This is seen in how many points we put up in the first half of games compared to second half of games. Teams know what we are going to do most of the time when it comes to 3rd and short and we get caught alot of those times when we have a lead and have to punt. If we have a lead every team we play knows what we are going to do (ie 2 runs up the gut, if its 3rd and short then we will run again if its 3rd and long a short pass) it happens every time. We dont change. almost every time its the same. and the other teams know this. We are predictable. This is a coaching issue more than a player issue. These are just my opinions flame them if you must but they in my opinon are the two biggest problems with this team. If we can change this the fanbase and the NFL ingeneral will take us more seriously and we will be more of a contender. Thanks for reading. |

So the team forgot how to make half time adjustments between last year (when they scored tons of points in the 2nd half) and this year?

taking an early two touchdown lead. The defense is better this year while the offense struggles. Any correlation?

Here is where Gary gets into trouble. He doesn't appear to hold scouts (and others)as accountable as he does himself. This is why he has been accused of being too loyal to his staff and players. IMO Gary need to start being the boss rather than whatever he thinks he should be. Again, we are starting to see a different side of Kubiak and several have commented on that this season. The problem with this is two fold, it may be too little too late and second it might take a while for players and Gary himself to adjust to what Gary needs to be. Do we have time? I am begining to doubt we do.

starting the game with a 2 touchdown lead. Nobody tore up a prevent zone defense better than the Texans. They would consistently score 30 while the opponent scored 33. How many times have they broken 30 this year?

Please. This is one of the lamest arguments around. Cool, we have a 21 point lead against a team that repeatedly has come back multiple TD's to tie or win. Yeah our best strategy is to "prevent" them by not preventing them from coming back. Then when they get within seven, or eight as the case may be, we still won't give a crap and will let them air it out against our "prevent (somebody remind me what we were preventing again) defense" to tie the game up.

What I am seeing is a handful of players knowing they need to make a play, and getting it done more times than not. What am I saying, I don't think it's Kubiak who isn't putting his foot on the neck, it's the guys on the field with the, "We've got a 14 point lead....... " attitude that kills us. I agree, Kubiak needs to be able to recognize when this is happening & get it fixed. When we've got the ball, the offense needs to play as if we're down by 7 & need a TD to tie.

If your offense is getting shut down then you need to look at something other than the prevent D. If they're down by 17, they need 3 scores right? You should be able to burn out most of a Qtr using the prevent D & an efficient offense. Heck, if your offense can score... you can kill an entire half & never be in any danger of losing the game.

My issues with the texans
1. We simply have no back-up plan when Aj is out. The team is like a lost puppy with no alpha male leading them when the "Beast" is down. The entire offense goes limp and the pass game is ugly. We desperately need another solid WR opposite Andre, because JJ has proven over and over and over and over that he sucks, and Walter is a great slot player, but can not step up and command the defense by himself. 2. Gary and the staff still fail miserably at challenging plays and making the right call in games. He made another terrible challenge last week, whoever has that job needs to be shot, because they suck. Also, his consistency is terrible thus our team is inconsistent. How do you attempt one 50 plus yarder (missed) but then punt the next one? Rackers missed a 50 yarder but he had a chance at another, Gary decided to punt and we pinned them deep. Rackers CAN make those and you need to trust he will make that. Had he made the 2nd one we would have only needed a fg to win the game (26-25) last week. Instead, Gary got scared, **** himself, and chose to punt. He needs to do a better job with feeling out the game and the situations. 3. Our number 2 corner is still pathetic, we might want to consider bringing Nolan in at FS and moving Quin down to corner a little more often, because Jackson and Allen suck, they remind me of Faggins, and that is not a good thought. Hell at this point I would be willing to watch Harris go out there and give it a go, how much worse could he be?!?! 4. Matt needs to gain that killer instinct. Sometimes he needs to disobey his "daddy" and change it up. If its 4th and one inside the 5, wave that FG team back to the sidelines, flip off the boss, and go for that ****. Seriously, thats what WINNERS do. Sometimes a field general needs to stand up for the squad and take the bull by the horns. Not always, but occasionally. Also, I think he is so terrible at times with clock management. It seems like they waste quite a bit of time when in the 2 minute drill. Plus we have not improved in the last 2 minutes of the first half, man I get so nervous when they try stuff, seems like Matt gets all "first time with a girl at prom" on us and f's it up. He needs to change that lol.....all I got for now
