I understand Kubiak has this idea that he can be cute with his schemes to get open, but it was clear as day Sunday that our receivers can't be counted on to get open against man coverage consistently. If the fans can see this, then why can't the Front Office? I just don't get it. I've been saying for the last couple of years we need to upgrade the position and we've basically ignored it. Nothing against Kevin Walter because I think he would be an awesome #3 receiver. Jacoby on the other hand shouldn't be on the field at all. If him and Matt haven't developed chemistry after 4 full years together then its not going to happen. Having 2 tight ends who can make plays is great, but you still need receivers on the outside who can make plays. Right now we're one of the worst teams in the league in that area without Andre. Super frustrated this hasn't been addressed, but I guess I shouldn't be surprised with this group that's leading the way.

Texans FO sucks at the draft.
Give a 5th for Brandon Lloyd. Denver won't need him anymore. |

I think everyone is in agreement that we need to upgrade the WR position but 5 games into the season there's not much we can do about it at this time. There are no pro bowl WR's sitting at home waiting for us to call.

While there may not be any pro bowl receivers out there to be picked up, we surely can upgrade from the production we're getting out of our receivers right now. I would hope the the Front Office is at least making phone calls to a team out there at least "trying" to make a move.

Let's do a quick list, ok? Top 7 targets 1-7. Ready? Steady....go!
1. Andre Johnson WR 2. Owen Daniels TE 3. Arian Foster RB 4. Kevin Walter WR 5. James Casey ?? 6. Joel Dreesen TE 7. Lestar Jean IR Anyone else think it's weird that WR, main job being catching footballs, barely occupy 2 slots on this list? |

The Chargers a few years ago were able to grab Chris Chambers from Miami during the season and he really jump started that offense. He wasn't a pro bowl receiver anymore, but he was good enough to make an impact for them and help elevate them into the playoffs. No one is saying we're going to hit a home run by picking someone up, but its almost like these guys have their heads in the sand trying to pretend its not a problem.

Honestly, we were crazy not to be looking to upgrade the receiver position this summer when so many quality WR's were on the move and we opted to keep Jacoby Jones for too damn much money.
Now we're not crazy, we're just screwed.

What we should have done last summer is water under the bridge at this point (and yes I would have liked to see a move there or where the heck are the draft pics/players we brought to camp?) but right now there isn't much out there. The Niners just signed Brett Swain, he of 20 NFL games for 72 yards, over Houshmanzadeh, Chambers, Finneran, etc.
