I know a lot of his family member posted here, which one was he?
Hate on his older brother all you want, but David did have elite raw athletic skills (Rocket arm and good mobility) It looks like his younger brother was gifted with the same arm, but even has more mobility and a MUCH BETTER release. However it seems he also has what his brother lacked...heart, toughness, and leadership. Is anybody watching Fresno ST right now on ESPN 2? He's getting in people's faces and really shows emotion for the game...he looks like a real competitor. This kid might have a future in this league and if he becomes something, I'm giving this board all the credit for "toughening him up" with all the criticism we gave his brother/family. jkAll B.S. aside, I'm going to root for this kid. His brother had special skills that many people in this league never possesed...however unlike his brother he may have the mindset/drive to put them to good use. Good luck Derek. And holy crap, he looks just like David...it's almost scary. |

Hulk75 was the middle brother. Derek was the little brother. Hulk75 was an offensive lineman for UH I believe.

![]() Anyways you can say whatever you want about that family...but they have fantastic athletic genes. Which David Carr absolutely wasted, he was one of the biggest wastes of raw talent that I've ever seen at this level. Man that guy had a LIVE arm, he just didn't know how to use it. |

Really a shame the way HWWNBM wasted his talents. The guy could have been special. I'm not saying he could have ever been in the same class as Brady and Peyton, but I truly believe if he would have had the drive he could have been in the same class as Roesthlisberger & Rivers. He had the arm and the speed to be the 2nd leading rusher for a QB one year. Sad. Maybe Derek will figure it out. I'm not watching but what to you really think of his arm strength? |

So far it looks like he has the same rocket arm, but without that side arm release..his release is MUCH more traditional...and he actually has more mobility. He looks like a legit NFL prospect in the near future. He's showing something his brother never showed though...emotion and attitude, I like it. It's what I always wanted to see from his brother.
Also if you're not watching this game, you might want to turn it on...it's a pretty good game. Derek's dogs are down a TD with 9 minutes to go in the 4th...lets see if he can bring them back. |

LOL and Carr's center proceeds to snap the ball into the ground out of a shotgun formation.
One family tradition will stay true...their ability to blame Olineman.

Urgh nevermind.. Stanford game officially turned off. Joel Meyers is the commentator and I'd rather rip off my eyelids and pour paint thinner into my eyeballs than listen to him call a football game.

I believe Hulk75 was DARREN.
David oldest, Darren the middle (Hulk75), and Derek the youngest.

David had a lot of skills, and could've been a special player in the league, but he literally only had one good receiver in his career, and that was a young Andre Johnson. Crappy OLine, only one good RB whose career ended too soon, and unknown WRs and TEs.

And zero work ethic to improve his lot. He may not have had help, but he didn't improve his understanding of the game either.

Yep. It was the combination of the two that doomed him. Even if he had a good team around him though I doubt David Carr would have been much better than average.

I seem to recall he was last to arrive at practice and first to leave. The league's best QBs eat, drink, and sleep football. Carr seemed more interest spending time off the field than working hard on the field with his teammates.

I also don't think he had what it took between the ears. I don't think he could read a defense much less pick one apart. He seemed easily confused and fell for the same stuff over and over again. He rode his natural ability to many millions of dollars and turned in a very dedicated 8-5, M-F type effort. To win in the NFL you have to do better than that.

I'm pretty sure his mom was on the board back then too. You wouldn't really know from the posts, but she used an av that had Mom's picture in it.

Manning hasn't been the best in the business because he is the smartest; I truly believe Manning has been the best because he works the hardest. Everything I have read about the guy indicated that he lives, eats, and breathes football and studies film more than anyone. That is why he is able to pick teams apart. He knows your teams defense better than you do because he flat out works harder at it. David was never willing to put in the necessary hours to do this. He always did the bare minimum the coaches asked him to do. When practice or the game was over, he was done thinking about football. When the offseason hit, football was the last thing on his mind. That's why he failed. |

Mr. Mittens would have been good with this offensive line, and this offensive talent we have now! That is of course dependent on how hard he worked. I think Kubiak could've made something of him!
