Jacoby Jones in the backfield

Did anyone see this play last night? I know it's only preseason, but it's nice to see Kubiak thinking out of the box every now and then.

All that bugs me is that when Kubes does test things out it's always Jacoby as his lab rat! The screen to him went for no gain. I'd like to see them try this play once during the regular season with Andre.

What do you guys think?

He's done stuff like this before. Back in the Dayne days, he'd use KW like that and he got some successful plays.

The Wildcat attempt with Jacoby a year or two as complete fail. But he uses Jacoby because of Jacoby's ability to run through traffic. I like seeing this now and again but I prefer us just running our base offense.

I like a trick play every now and then just to keep D's on their toes. With our running attack, can you imagine how effective a flea flicker would be, in the right situation?

They ran that play ineffectively. There was nobody blocking out in front of him on that side of the ball. I would have done it to the opposite side of the field, where a screen could have been much more effective (with all those WR's blocking for him).

Personally, I'd like to see Casey in a position to throw or run the ball in short yardage situations during these preseason reps.

I love Matt as our QB, but have cringed on flea flickers in the past because easy TDs are turned into 40 yard comebacks. Maybe if Matt would throw the ball immediately he could hit Andre in stride for a nice TD.

If you give AJ more than 4 seconds, he's almost out of range for an in-stride throw. Quit pooping on my dreams of flea flickers going for a TD for the Texans.

Anyone who says Schaub's arm isn't strong and blahblahblah hit Andre in-stride a 55 yard throw isn't long enough yadayadayada.....

The play took 4 seconds to develop, the ball was in the air for nearly 4 seconds.....AJ can nearly outrun an 80 yard throw. John Elway getting shot out of a cannon getting shot out of Jamarcus Russell's ass can't throw a ball that far.
