What a coddled football player. We should have allowed him to "step" his ass onto another team. This kid needs humbling and a fresh start.
3rd Rounder four years ago. 73rd player chosen. 10th overall WR chosen. From Lane College that no one had ever heard of.

This pick had nothing but "Potential" written all over it. If your upset because you thing 3rd Rd/#73 was to high to get him, I can understand that.

But the comments about tired of waiting for him to break out, being coddled and needs humbling don't really have credibility. He wasn't drafted as a big time college WR that was expected to come in and be a Pro-Bowler. That would have been Calvin Johnson, Dwayne Bowe, Sidney Rice and Steve Smith.

He was from Lane freaking College. He was a project with a lot of potential, that it has taken a few years to start to realize. Your rage towards JJ suggests you set your expectations too high for him.

Maybe it should be directed towards Smithiak, who probably could have got him lower in the draft and used that 73rd pick a bit more wisely.

No kidding.

I'm starting to wonder if the Chron just runs the same Jacoby article every pre-season.

Sounds like the quintessential Texan to me. He'll take off when his team
does.

It's really hard to consider letting this guy go when you think of the times he has played to his potential. Here's a refresher: Link

Lane college.....

We knew he was going to take some time to develop when we drafted him.

Two years... maybe three, unless you're Randy Moss & a freak of nature, sounds about right for a receiver coming from a major program.

I feel if he started 16 games, he'd have 100 catches & 1000 yards..... even if he drops a few.

I've never had a problem with the guy.

He provides more reward than he does risk. He's the kid who gets in trouble, flashes the million dollar smile, and you forgive him as easily as you got mad at him just a second or two ago.

And Kubiak had good reason to be upset:

3 years, $10.5 million. Just less than what Leach got from the Ravens. Essentially, the Texans picked Jacoby over Vonta.

yeah but that is him screaming at the Refs. You will rarely ever see him yell at his players. I do remember one instance when he was yelling at Schaub for some bone headed throw.

I'm pulling for JJ to break out this season and score a lot of TDs. He is the best end zone dancer on the team..lol

Kubes gets on his players alot more than we know. I remember Sage complaining about it, especially the use of cuss words. I think the "press conference Kubiak" is definitely not all there is to him.

As far as JJ, if he can limit his time in the clubs, he will become that star the chron predicts every year.

Should have re-signed Leach with that money and then kept David Anderson for less money.
