Does anyone else hope we do not draft him. The reason I fell this way is because next years draft is going to be loaded at the tackle position. I mean look at who is coming out next year.
LT D'Brickashaw Ferguson, Virginia LT Eric Winston, Miami LT Jonathan Scott, Texas LT Marcus McNeill, Auburn RT Andrew Whitworth, LSU RT Winston Justice, USC RT Jami Hightower, Texas A&M

The only way I want us to draft Barron is if we trade down in the first round, but he won't last past 15 so so much for my theory...

I'm hoping Barron goes before 13, but if he doesn't, I don't mind the team drafting him. He has prototype size and increadible athleticism. Folks question his passion, but he is supposed to be NFL pass protection ready from day one. I'd like to wait for next season but I am concerned David Carr can't make it through one more season of brutal beatings. I guess it depends on how Wand is looking this offseason.

Assuming we pick in the 17-23 range next year, we should be able to get someone at least equal to Barron in the first next year...The only problem I have with waiting until next year for an OT is that it usually takes a year for an OT to get used to the NFL game and add enough strength to work well at OT...Therefore, if Wand doesn't develop according to plan, we may be stuck with him at LT until after the 2006 season...If we trade down and get Barron, then fine...The O-Line needs improving and there's no time like the present...

Gil Brandt has Barnes rated as his no. 1 pick, and says, 'Barnes has the ability to be an All-Pro. He's a Pro Bowl type player with long hands.'
I'd really like to see us add an excellent tackle this year. I'm tired of hearing about Carr getting sacked. All a better defense will do is give him more time to get sacked, if we don't get him some protection. I know these guys don't have a lot of glamor, but there's no guarantee that next year, there won't be 5 teams ahead of us who need linemen. We need to upgrade now. |

No Barron I dont want a LT who does not have the desire to pancake a defender on run plays he just shoves them off. I want my LT to run block where he tries to drive the DL 15 yards backwards. I want a grizzly bear at LT not the Friendly Bear from grizzly adams.

No way in hell we draft Barron. Even McClain said no to it. Kiper and the other big time know it alls say yes, but in the end they are always wrong. No way Houston goes LT at 13.
Trade down and pick up Matt Jones... he's a 10 foot tall beastman! |

No Thanks! Tired of seeing all mocks having Texans picking him.
