What's the deal with signing draft picks
Okay so now that the whole Aso/JJ drama is over what is going on with our draft picks. Sunday is the first day of camp and they NEED to be there.
I'm just curious if anyone has heard what the deal is. I see alot of other teams signing their draft picks. Are we possibly still in the bidding for another high profile player???

I think you've seen a lot of teams signing their draft picks a lot this week because today is the start of training camp for most of them out there. We still have until Sunday to get our people in before camp, so there's no sense of urgency when signing our picks.

I imagine Vonta is the priority right now and they are probably trying to scrounge up the necessary cash to get his deal done. Once that issue resolves itself our rookies will get signed in time for day 1 on Sunday. I highly doubt there are any other serious deals to be made but maybe there are some minimum salary depth signings coming.

We're lucky because we've got till Sunday. Some of the other teams were crunched because their training camps started so quick.

Meh, we're one of the two teams that arethe last to report to camp. We're a day or two behind the rest of the league. It's basically a given salary, so he'll be there.

I know McClain is saying that we won't have any problems getting our rookies signed, but camp starts tomorrow and unless I missed anything, we haven't signed any of our draft picks....
(which usually means that as soon as I post this, they'll be breaking news....)
