Great day....just a great, great day for this franchise.

This season NEEDS to be a success. If we make the playoffs great. If we do something in the playoffs it will be huge for the franchise.

Just because McNair will have got results with spending and signing Vets. Something that seems to be recent in our history. Manning and Joseph is a great haul and really can't see how anyone can see this as a bad thing.

Lets hope the young guys can learn from these vets and the new coaching staff...I am pumped.

Manning, Joseph, Mario, Cushing, Ryans, Watt, Antonio
Andre, Foster, Matt, Oline, OD

You gotta be a really bad coach to screw this up.

Outstanding haul so far. Still, I'd like to see them shore up the offensive line next. Especially the right guard position.

A random person on the Texans twitter feed posted not too long ago: "If Kubiak somehow screws this up, never again should he be given a head coaching gig."

Something no one is really talking about is that Manning is an outstanding kick off returner. Not only do we get a quality starting safety (something this franchise has needed forever), but we acquire a new kick off returner that helps special teams. Two positions, one player, very nice!

Now my biggest concern on defense is that injury-prone, somewhat disinterested 285 lb outside LB who counts $16 million against the cap this year. Perhaps the Texans will tell him he's free to look for a trade, too? Imagine saving $7 million under the cap while signing Manny Lawson and then Cullen Jenkins or Aubrayo Franklin and getting multiple 2012 day one and/or day two draft picks!
