I have no doubt that an inordinate number of injuries will be the order of the day during 2011.

UPDATED: Training camp opener takes a toll on some players
The first day of training camp is often viewed as the first step towards a productive and fruitful career for rookies and newcomers. It was also the first opportunity for those players to get a sense of how grueling camp can be.
No less than 11 players suffered what appeared to be minor injuries during the first day of Ravens training camp at the teamís facility in Owings Mills Thursday. Cramps plagued at least seven players, including wide receivers James Hardy and rookies Torrey Smith and Tandon Doss and fullback Jason McKie.
Offensive tackle Eric Vanden Heuvel and linebacker Jason Phillips were carted off the field. Left tackle Andre Ramsey pulled up after a play with a right calf injury, and rookie wide receiver Terrell Zachery had a bag of ice wrapped around his left knee.
Several veterans were present, but did not practice. The most notable player was four-time Pro Bowl outside linebacker Terrell Suggs, who wore a wrap around his right hamstring, but did not appear to hobble or limp.
