At a time NFL players and coaches usually would be preparing to open training camp, they instead find themselves sidelined by labor strife. We caught up with four individuals with Texans ties to get an up-close look at what it’s like to be locked out.

The NFL lockout has surpassed 100 days. While the owners and players continue to meet toward compromise on a new collective bargaining agreement, we decided to take a look at how the lockout has affected four individuals affiliated at the moment or most recently with the Texans.

I know that many will probably start throwing tomatoes at me, but even with his known warts, I would have still been curious to see how Pollard would do in this new system with its new coaches.

“You’re in a better situation if you’re a veteran of a team where the coach is still there,” Winston, 27, said. “Guys like Bernard, they’re waiting for their payday. They’re feeling the brunt. I feel for them.”

He also mentioned his fallen counterparts, those players such as linebacker Darryl Sharpton, who was placed on injured reserve after a shoulder injury suffered in late December.

The league has denied Sharpton and others like him access to team trainers during the rehab process, which Winston, one of the Texans’ player representatives, termed “disruptive.”

I believe that Sharpton and other players in his position would find a different word than "disruptive" to describe their situation.

Also, who made Pollard a scapegoat? The coaches made him be in a spot where he had to cover and he can't.

No one said he can't hit hard or isn't a run stopper?

YUP!! While I love Pollards intensity and ability to "knock the piss outta people", he really was terrible in coverage!

He's saying they each have different skillsets - that if you put those other guy's in a different situation / scheme / responsibility they wont perform at the same level and .... I agree with him at least to some extent.

Schaub hasn't been hit too hard the last few years but I get the feeling Pollard would do whatever it takes to level Schaub just to send a message to this organization.

He has to get a job first before he can do that. Not that I think he'll sit out the season, but it's very possible he's a backup next year. It sucks that we don't have a spot on our crappy defense for him but I don't think it's going to set us back much worse than what our secondary was already last year.
