Texans near top of NFL at retaining draft picks. Is that a good thing? Thought this topic was interesting, especially given teeth gnashing re: Texans relative lack of impact free agent acquisitions.

Without having time to read the article right now - mostly no, it is not. Someone posted earlier - something like our rank of draft picks still starting. I said does that stat mean anything for players who would not start on other teams?

It all depends on the players you are retaining. IF you look at teams like the Ravens and the Packers they retain a high percentage of their picks, but they picks they make are highly successfully.

We keep all these draft picks out of necessity not because we drafted so well. This is a non-story.
