Default Dez Bryant Pants Down and Lawsuits UP

Some tasks are just too difficult for millionaire players to handle all by themselves.

Dez Bryant warned after NorthPark disturbance

Quote:
DALLAS — Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant received a criminal trespass warning from off-duty police officers at NorthPark Center on Saturday night after being involved in a disturbance.

In a story first reported on WFAA.com, Bryant was told not to come back to the mall for three months.

According to the official police report, Bryant and three friends were stopped by the uniformed, off-duty officers working security shortly before 8 p.m. at the popular shopping center after they were observed "wearing their pants halfway down their hips exposing their underwear."

The police asked the men to pull their pants up.

"Mr. Bryant’s response to the request was profanity laced and [NorthPark] center representatives felt the outburst merited a request for Mr. Bryant to leave the premises," according to a Dallas police statement issued Tuesday evening.

"What the [expletive] are you stopping me, like I stole something," Bryant was quoted as saying by a News 8 source. "I'm not leaving until my attorney and my representative get here."

Police said Bryant continued cursing as the off-duty officers escorted him to his vehicle.

"Mr. Bryant entered his vehicle but parked in a fire lane still refusing to leave, necessitating a request for on-duty officers to respond to the location," the Dallas police statement said.

The police report noted that NorthPark has a history of problems with Bryant, including a "major disturbance" at a restaurant involving a woman, a parking violation, and cutting in line at the Apple Store.

Under the terms of the warning, Bryant would be subject to arrest if he returns to the mall within 90 days.

A message posted on Dez Bryant's verified Twitter account Tuesday evening offered this reaction:

The real story has been put out on 103.3.. It's really a non story..the media need something to talk about.anyway how has everyone day been?

The Dallas Cowboys have not commented on this incident.

On Sunday morning, Bryant's teammate Bryan McCann was arrested at a downtown Dallas nightclub for public intoxication. McCann refuted the charge in a written statement.

In both the Bryant and McCann cases, police said "the outcome could have been avoided if the parties involved had simply complied with instructions given by the involved officers."

Skintight knew he could have 'off the field issues'. Now his #1 draft pick is in the mall with his pants on the ground. What an ambassador for the 'Boys. They are surely proud.

The baggy pants syndrome always reminds me of my kids when they wore diapers and had a load in them. I've never understand the point of it or the appeal of having your ass crack on display.

As far as Dez Bryant, he sounds like an egotistical a-hole. His attitude is everything wrong with many of today's entertainers.

I believe it has to do with the fact that you don't get to wear a belt in jail, and your pants frequently sag down because of it. Its like a toughness status symbol i guess.

The irony of course is that if your pants come down in jail, well, you know.

If you have to be told to pull your pants up.....

I mean, at Mardi Gras....where damn near anything goes....if you show your undergarments it takes about .4 seconds to have a trio of police on you, arresting you and reading you rights with a taser pointed at your neck and I am NOT kidding about that in any sense.

Since when does outrage become the response instead of flat embarassment? HEY MAN, I can see your underwear and I don't appreciate it, how 'bout ratcheting that shit up?!? I'd be like, damn, I just got served.

It was also a way to let everybody know in prison you like to ride the cotton pony or you just became someone's *****.

I teach high school and when I see this, I also say, "dude, is that a stain on your boxers?" once everybody turns to look, those pants can't get up fast enough.

what is really stupid looking is the skinny jeans that students sag with...

I can sort of understand why Bryant would be ticked. It used to irritate me to no end when clerks would follow me around in stores and ask me if I was going to buy something just because I had long hair and earrings etc.

That being said I'm not defending his reaction. He should have just calmly told the mall that he was going to take his multimillion dollar checking account somewhere else and then leave. They shouldn't have had to ban him. I wouldn't want to go there anyway.

It appears that he is taking kind of the opposite approach:

Quote:
Instead of taking his business elsewhere, Bryant is working to get his way back into the mall. His adviser David Wells, a former bail bondsman in Dallas, went to the mall on his behalf, according to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Wells says Bryant has spent thousands of dollars at the mall and should be treated better.

(And should I read anything into the the fact that his "adviser" is a former bail bondsman?)

I think that is just examples of 2 dudes, not him.

I'm not really sure what to think of all of this. Obviously the guy needs to grow up alot. Multiple incidents at one mall is telling. He has to get past these minor things and be professional. Wake up dude or your gone and wasting talent.

But overall I'm kind of laughing at the media attention over droopy drawers. That whole trend is stupid but not criminal. Though I don't want to see crack.

On a side note I go to this mall all the time because my sister lives up the street in HP. It is a nice mall. But it isn't like an upscale palace where he can't go elsewhere. It is just more quaint with better places to eat. He can go to the Galleria.

This is funny. The retailers are upset. He buys and is fun

Quote:
According to a Wednesday story by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, retailers described Bryant as a playful, friendly, sometimes loud, but definitely a loyal customer.

“I need to call him to see if we need to send him anything,” Tiffany Edmonds, a supervisor at the Gucci Store, told the Star-Telegram. “He’s here quite often. He is an amazing customer. He is always nice with the clients. He signed autographs. He is very pleasant.”

“We are sad to see him gone,” a parking attendant told the publication. “He would tip ... 40 or 50 bucks every time. He was good to us. He treated us well.”

According to a Star-Telegram source, Bryant shopped at the NorthPark Foot Locker three times a week, and routinely signed autographs for customers at the store.

“He has all the Lebrons and Jordan shoes,” the source said. “If we don’t have it we will order it for him.”

This is funny.

A couple of years ago, I created a thread called, "Pull your damn pants up", when I saw this fool walking out of Frye's with his pants halfway down, and wondered why anyone would think that is somehow cool.

I got vilified six ways to Sunday for being a racist. So what changed? How is this different?

And I got a question for the droopy-drawered crowd. Do chicks actually dig that sort of thing?
