What are we doing right now?

I'm seeing all these teams interviewing and workingout players and none of them are the Texans. Am I to expect are annual thumb sitting is going on right now?

So Curtis Brown CB of UT is getting some looks by teams for the draft. The teams are:

Steelers
Patriots
Ravens
Browns

Steelers run a 3-4, and the Patriots and Ravens run versions of the 3-4. All 3 of those teams made the playoffs last year. The Browns seem to be doing what we need to be doing. Looking around where the succesful teams are looking around. Appearantly Steelers, Patriots and Ravens think this guy is worth kicking the tires on in the later rounds. Shouldn't we at least look too. Would be helpful to know if we are. Or are we too busy ignoring the Texas CB because there's a young A&M QB that we would like to waste a pick on?

CBS Rob Rang reported that the Texans were one of 15 teams that were at Davon House pro day. He ran a 4.32 and a 4.35. If he's there in the 2nd rd. He should be the Texans pick. He can turn and run as good as any CB in this draft.

All I'm looking for. Thanks for that info. Sounds like a good player. Still think we need to snoop around where the playoff teams are. Especially since we are drafting in front of teams like Steelers and Ravens, would be nice to send a smoke screen to them too just to see if they'd like to trade up.

CB was the Cowboys target in second round, assuming they take OT in first. It was real close between Curtis Brown & Davon House, I replayed tape & combine excerpts over & over coming to the conclusion that Brown has a higher ceiling based off his ball skills & short area explosion/change of direction. House finished workouts ranked 15th out of 34 for position while Brown ranked 7th. FYI

Brown is the better athlete.

I do think that House will turn out the better player though, and that's not a shot at Brown.

Curtis has so much potential (Tracy Porter) something a team like the Cowboys like. Far as Texans they would probably go House, he seems safer, pretty well put together all around game (Leon Hall).

Once again I'm seeing a guy like Prince Amukamara, who has a pretty good chance of dropping to us and a whole bunch of teams setting up a visit with him:

BengalsPatriots (who are nowhere near in the area of where he may go in the draft, but acting like a playoff team does and doing the due dilligence.)
Panthers
Browns
49ers
Cowboys
Redskins
Buccaneers (also a team picking behind us but still doing their dilligence)

And no sign of The Texans looking at him.

You have to be careful with this kind of stuff. Teams often send scouts to player pro days just to get an idea of who actually is looking a particular player; Sometimes they may have little to no interest in the player at all. Either way, That info is valuable on draft day if a particular player falls & you know what which teams might be interested in trading up to get that player. It also helps them set their draft boards as well.
