Did we just install new confidence in our offense to score more points. I believe bringing in these new coaches will do just that. Wade coming in alone will help restore the defense to another level. Players respect him, and thrilled to have him over Bush. The ability to get the ball back more, or to actually stop the other team from scoring will go along way. I still think we need more help on special teams.

Obviously, if our defense makes more stops and gets more turnovers that will give our offense more opportunities to score. But also take into consideration that we didn't get any TDs from our defense or from our special teams last year. We were 9th in the league in scoring and all of that was coming from our offense. If our defense can score some and if our ST can score some combined with more attempts for our offense, we should be good. Should be. But we've got to see it actually happen on the field. |

We can attribute much of last years lack of success on ST to injuries with ST players taking on bigger roles in other facets of the game and in general not used on ST from that point forward. At least we werent forced to endure another season of Kris Brown and the Yips .... Seems like any time they made a positive play on ST there was a flag thrown .... ugh. Last season was a forgettable one , for the entire team.

I don't know how forgettable it was for Arian Foster and the O-line. Shame we wasted that.

Texans averaged 19.8 for KOs and 6.7 for punts. Seems like the wedge abatement affected the Texans more than the league on average or our return guys just were flat out bad?

None of which will help
make better personnel decisions or become better at making game adjustments or making correct decisions at crucial times during games or game planning. Sorry its just way to early for me to start drinking the koolaid. If we have a winning record in October I might start sippin it again. The time for talk is over. Its put up or shut up time. Now that we have a 3/4 defense in here I fully expect a coaching change (Cowher) if we get off to a slow start. And it better not be someone on the current staff either. Some of you seem to forget that our defense wasnt that bad a couple of years ago. How much did that help cover up Kubiaks deficiencies? If we get real lucky and have the ball bounce our way a few times we might have a winning record. However it will be for not and Kubiak will be exposed against a real NFL HC's when it really counts.

I've been pounding the Special Teams point since the middle of the season. Field position was horrendous. You can't expect the team to do well when they're starting at the 20 every time. It puts way too much pressure on the offense, and subsequently the defense, which would be on the field more often when the offense can't go 80 yards each time to score.
